I am hoping that someone can help me out. We are staying at Storey Lake, which is off of W Osceola Pkwy in November. We are flying into MCO and will be renting a car. I've done numerous google map searches but everyway to get to I4 has us paying tolls. But when I look at the map, I can't see any toll booths? I also read that there some weird tolls that only accept change. I also tried looking on the florida turnpike websites to map my trip and had no look as I don't know specific exits etc. We will be driving to Universal for this trip.
Thanks
Osceola Pkwy is a strange road: technically it's a toll road, but it's not limited access. There's only one mainline toll plaza, and it's east of Storey Lake, so there won't be a toll between the resort & WDW or I-4. Google Maps is wrong; I think it just sees that Osceola Pkwy is a toll road and assumes there will be a toll.
There are also several alternate ways in and out of Storey Lake that avoid Osceola Pkwy entirely. If you head south, there are exits onto 535 & 192 south of Osceola Pkwy. If you head north, you can continue straight across Osceola Pkwy to new Publix on 535.
There's a
Walmart just west of the resort off the parkway. The exit is Poinciana Blvd/535. If you get off at that exit coming from WDW, or get on going towards WDW, there is an exit toll, which I believe requires exact change. If you get on or off in the other direction, there is no toll.
Also, if you take 417 from the airport and get off at Osceola Pkwy., there is an exact change exit toll. If you want to avoid it, I suggest getting off 417 at the I-Drive/Epcot exit, turn left onto 535, and then left onto Osceola Pkwy to the resort. Note that the left turn onto 535 gets very backed up; move into the left lane right after crossing I-Drive, and be prepared to sit thru several light cycles before you can make the turn. All of the tolls between the airport and I-Drive on 417 are attended and can provide change.
The satellite imagery on Google Maps is old and does not show the roads thru the resort. To see newer satellite imagery, download Google Earth on a computer, which is free.
