The toll house cookie making is a must for kids. My DD just has a blast making cookies and then eating them afterwards. If you have a little bit of time (about 30 minutes total) to spend you have to let your kids do it. The best thing is, it's FREE!!!

My 6 year old LOVED doing this, my then 10 year old enjoyed it too but the little one really had fun. And those cookies are DELISH!

Where is this at? Is it at DCA? I remember they had this in the Land at WDW. I'm going to be at DL in a couple of weeks and would like to take DS to that.

It's located at the Plaza Pavillion on Main St. in DL next to some pin carts/pin trading area. If you look in the park map/schedule they list different times you can bring your kids there to decorate cookies. I think it's it cute how they give little kids chef hats to wear. =c)

They should also have one in New Orleans Square soon next to the French Market restaurant. I remember every halloween they have Nightmare Before Christmas cookies you can decorate (I think you have to pay for it though). :wizard:

I saw kids dressed up like little chefs...now I know why. Is there an age requirement?

On the DL website I read that it's for ages 4-10 but I'm not sure if they are strict on that or not. They have a few cast members who supervise that so it wouldn't hurt to ask. :sunny:

The times are posted outside of the area where they do it. Just show up about 5-10 before it starts to get a hat. Your children will color while waiting for the class to start. They have never asked an age of any child that I have ever seen.

Thanks for your help "eatmypixiedust." Would you happen to know how to sign up for it?

I don't think you need to sign up. Just wait in the line :) I pin trade every other week next to that area and I've never seen any long lines. Here is the info from the DL Info Website:

'The Nestlé Toll House Junior Chef Baking Experience' located at the Plaza Pavilion on Main Street in Disneyland invites up to 20 young guests between the ages of 4-10 to make a batch of Nestlé Toll House Cookies! Children are put in teams to measure, mix and bake. The reward is a warm Nestle' Toll House Cookie! This complimentary, first come, 25 minute activity takes place up to 5 times per day. Check your daily schedule for time.

I have a three year old who would love to do this with her 10 year old sister. Do you think they will turn her down? Do you get to keep the chef hat? :earsgirl:

There should be no problem at all. The ladies who run it are GREAT. They are so nice. I also have not seem them ask anyone's age. The chef's hat is a paper one and yes they get to keep it. They write each kids name on it. There is a really cute gold sticker on the front that says "Junior Chef" etc... I have saved them for scrapbooking.

Your girls will love it! After they are done each kid gets a bag with 2 cookies in it. If you are around at the end they hand out extra bags (if they have them) to whatever kids and adults are around.

MY children did this one year at WDW and enjoyed it. It was a little crowded and although we were the second family in line waiting, they did ask my younger dd's age. At the time she was 3 months from her 4th BD and she is a little short. When they asked me, my dd was already sitting down with her sister and a bunch of other kids. So, I told them her birthday was next month, we had been waiting for 20 minutes and there was no sign saying what ages it was for nor did they annouce it. So, I lied a little, but they did let her stay. THere were a few other children that looked 3 and they were let in with no problem. My children were sitting near the entrance and there were no more seats for the children that were late coming in so I think they were trying to make room.

I have never really seen this too crowed. There are also no seats for the children at DL. They stand around a big table. They hand out a certain number of chef hats for each time. I have seen them hand out every hat and the table was still not very crowed. On a weekend in August we just showed up 5 minutes before and there was no waiting. Maybe because it is still pretty new??? Hopefully it stays that way.

My son did this for his sixth birthday and LOVED it. It was nice relaxing for a moment with the other moms and dads while our kids made the cookies. The group sang happy birthday to my son and everyone got chef hats with their names written on them. Then, of course, we got the fresh cookies which were awesome. :love1:

We just did this on Thursday and it was fabulous. We all walked away with a baggie of 3 hot cookies...yummy!
