No some of the numbers are for food vendors, and buisness contractors etc.If Disney wanted people to know about 1800 numbers they would publish them.As one disney CM told me "Disney does not have 1800 numbers because they do not need them.People will still call anyway" It is stinky but true.

Sorry but I was given a toll free number that people on this very board have posted. It was given to me a CM as I posted. If they would answer correctly what I want I don't mind paying. I will be getting a calling card from now on. Yes they say they don't need a toll free number but that because everyone goes to Disney. What they need is people on the other end to be up to date on discounts etc & not have to put you on hold for 30 minutes or longer to get the answer if it takes them that long to find out why they messed up my ressie then they need to call me back. My money not spent very well when they screw up which has been many times now. And those blank emails what a pain. What they charge is high MHO. At this point everyone has their opinions about the toll free numbers & if Disney want the money they would change the way they answer the phone instead of entering your # & how many times then to be asked all over again. I am also fed up with noise in the background that I can't heard what is being said nor can they hear me. To all everyone has an opinion whether you agree or not. Thank you.

It's been posted time and again how often Cast Members are wrong about something - logically, this would extend to providing a toll-free number when no existing ones were EVER intended for use by the general public (ess post # 19, above, for brief description of purpose of existing numbers).

I'd wager that no CM puts anyone on hold for thirty minutes with the intention of taking that long to find an answer/resolve a problem. It's reasonable to think that a Guest - especially an experienced one - calling with a problem might request a call back after explaining the issue. Not required, merely sensible - especially when a company repeatedly makes mistakes on multiple reservations.

I'm not sure how 'blank e-mails' relate to the lack of toll-free numbers, but okay.

A caller aware in advance of the automated response requirements can make note of the actions required and perform them as soon as each voice-prompt starts - example: I "know" all the Dining prompts and can generally get through them in well under thirty seconds. I was impressed with myself - until somebody on these boards suggested pressing 1 1 1, the third number being the positive response to the "Orlando area/next seven days" prompt. It speeds things up even more.

As for noise in the background, it's too bad that happens but we ARE (usually) contacting a Call Center - where yes, there's going to be noise.

I'm probably jinxing myself, but I've never had any of the problems indicated above. Has a CM kept me on hold? Sure - while he was working with Guest Services to change my BounceBack reservation. It happens.

Well, I guess what they could do to offset the toll free number is start charging for all modifications to bookings.
I would say leave the toll free numbers unpublic rather than burying the cost in another charge that everyone pays.
Whether it be Disney or another company -- if there is a huge expense they will figure out a way to recoup the expense if they cannot eliminate it.

Well I guess people seem to love to put others down on what they think like post 22. Never heard of a blank email from Disney? I gotten 5 from them & they me tell if it is their fault not mine but hey it ok. I haven't posted as many times as you ah such a shame but I hold no grudge. It doesn't mean you know more than other with fewer posts just you like to post. CM are not perfect like all of us. But that fine but when they screw up then they should pay for the call. But hey I really don't care what people think anymore or I could get more down to it but why waste my time :rotfl: The plain fact that Disney doesn't have toll free numbers in the states is beyond some of you to grasp at. Doesn't this bother you? Guess not. Fact some CM haven't got a clue where & what is the AKL Disney doesn't have an AKL right? I was asked that the other day booking a vacation but hey I know better to talk to an idiot of course I did the survey how do you think replied to the survey? All need to get a life when a person ask for a toll free number & just say Disney doesn't have one sorry. No need to explain how you feel about it & why they shouldn't have one.

No, I'm serious - I don't understand what blank e-mails have to do with toll-free numbers, or the lack of them, or anything.

Toll free calls aren't free -- we don't pay for them, but the business does. Businesses provide toll free numbers as a convenience to their clients or to encourage them to call. And we sure don't need any encouragement to call Disney, do we? :rotfl2:

If I make 4 calls to Disney while planning my trip, and spend a total of $10 of long distance, I'm annoyed, but I'm going to call anyway because I need to. OTOH, if Disney pays for my call -- and the thousands of other calls they get every single day -- that adds up to hundreds of thousands of dollars of long distance charges that Disney will have to pay.

Can they afford it? Sure.
Will they pay it if they don't have to? Nope.

If you get a toll free number that works to get through to Disney, it would be in your best interest not to share it. Not encouraging you to be selfish, but as soon as you post it publicly and everyone starts using it, you can be certain that Disney will shut it down ASAP. So...kind of pointless to give out the number, KWIM? :confused3

My cell phone has free unlimited long distance, so I just use that to call Disney now. :thumbsup2

1-800-711-4344...well, this one's gone now...anybody got any others or must I suck it up and call O-land long distance?

I call the DVC 800 number to make dining reservations. It's not really free because our dues pay for the member services line and staff. I just look at it as utilizing my membership.

There is no toll free number for the general public.

The reason that the numbers keep on changing is that they get leaked here, and Disney changes the numbers because they get too many calls.

I would LOVE if they had one for everyone, but at this time they don't.

This is quickly becoming my party line for this subject. :rotfl:

The other thread on this subject got too heated, and subsequently shut down by the moderators, but I did like someone's suggestion of using a cell phone.

Most people have cell phone plans that include nights and weekends for free, and Disney Dining is open 7am - 11pm eastern time.

And my plan on AT&T has an obscene amount of rollover minutes that I haven't used, so the cell phone is my favorite option. It's worth thinking about.
