Does anyone know if there is a toll free phone number that is equivalent to (407) WDW-PLAY? I want to book a cabana for one of our pool days for our upcoming trip.

Call me cheap, but I don't want to pay the long distance costs to call Florida. Or does everyone just do everything online nowadays? Or do I eat it and fork over the money to call?

I have installed Google Hangouts Dialer on my cell phones. It allows free North America calls over an internet connection.

You could try Yak (10-10-925-1-area code-telephone #) its 5 cents per minute gets billed to your phone bill or Caztel (10-10-710-1-area code-telephone#) its $.99 for 110 minutes. You have to have a traditional land line to use both of these. It's not free but it's really cheap long distance.

AFAIK, WDW does not have toll free numbers for their reservations.

The ideas suggested by the PPs will work.

Call me insensitive but if your booking a Cabana I dont know why your worried about a small long distance bill. BUT,,,, if you check with your provider you might be able to have a package included. I know our bell includes North American calling.
Or if you have DVC they have a toll free number.

Darn, I have Rogers at home which is voip. We had a Bell landline up until a year ago.

Don't want to sign up for North American long distance if we only need it a couple times a year. We text, email, or internet call (Skype or FaceTime) for most of our communication.

I'd rather put my money into better use, though it may only be a couple bucks, into something more useful than having to communicate with someone over a telephone. It's like having to pay for postage stamps.

I do have DVC, but can I reach the people I need to through that toll free line?

I just asked my (know everything) son and he said the two numbers I mentioned above should work with a Rogers phone line. They have an agreement with many phone providers (see website) Give it a try worst they can do is say it's not possible.

K cool. Thanks for looking into it. I'll try this if I can't get the google hangouts thing to work. It's easier for me to call when I have downtime at work.

I use the DVC number for just about everything, if they don't have the info or can't book it directly, they will usually offer to transfer me to someone who can.

Don't like paying long distance charges when there's a good chance there'll be time that I'm on hold.

Absolutely, that is what our dues are for, they can do everything for you. Use the number.

I too am cheap when it comes to long distance, so I purchased a minimal amount of Skype credit exclusively for Disney calls. Skype's 2.4c/min CA>US calling rate takes the sting out of being stuck on hold forever! :)

Rogers or Bell should be giving you 5 cents/min at a minimum. If they're not you should call to get that rate (you should call anyway to see what they can give you for some sort of combo package. Try to get to customer retention) but that is your baseline. Calling cards would give you a better rate, but I think getting something like Skype credit is the way to go.

If you have google hangouts you can make free calls through Canada and the US.

Just wanted to update everyone.

I ended up using the first option posted here - installing Google Hangouts for my iPhone. I was able to dial 407-WDW-PLAY to make the cabana reservation. When I first made the call, the app said that most calls within Canada and US to landline or mobile phones are free.

Thanks all for the suggestions!
