We will be driving from the Orlando airport to Universal Studios and then to WDW in a rental car. Are the toll booths all ones that we are able to pay as we go through them? The rental car company has a thing on their website about the Sunpass but it seems expensive for an entire week. However, I don't want to get to a toll booth and find out it's unmanned and get hit with a big fee after we get home.

thanks for your help!

Depends on your travels. Some are change only, some are manned. I Hv sunpass as I live on the coast & tolls are cheaper using it.

Unmanned doesn't mean "cash only". It means you need to have exact change. So get a roll of quarters and some ones, have those at the ready. Watch for the toll booths (it looks like you're exiting the freeway...you do, you pay, you get back on).

MCO to Universal, I take the north exit from the airport and go on 528. Follow the signs to Universal. I don't remember any unmanned booths on 528 going from MCO to Uni.

Going from Uni to WDW you'll go on 4 west (4 is an east west road that just happens to go almost exactly north south through Orlando...it's weird, so just follow the signs to WDW (there are a million) and know that you're on 4west. Unless you go on back roads. :) Either way, you won't hit toll roads going from Uni to WDW unless you're doing something odd and/or wrong. :)
