I thought I'd give it a try - currently have reservations at the Swan for a junior suite but after reading about lack of magic, the fact I want to save a few more dollars, and my sister not joining us until later in the week, I started to re-think this plan. With the AP rates now available for my dates, thought I'd call and try for a moderate. 2 different CMs said no, no AP rates yet - try back in a few days. In fact, the last one told me I couldn't get an AP rate until my second stay - that I needed to have the AP in hand when I checked in and the first stay all I would have would be a certificate. new one to me - has anybody else heard this one? Also, spent over 1 hour with this CM as she fumbled with the computer system. She sounded quite old and inexperienced, I gave her some slack as I suspect she's filling in for the holidays and trying to make a few dollars to supplement her Social Security.
Anyway, I booked a AAA discount for Carribean Beach, total of 961.00 with tax, 6 days, 4/10 - 4/16. 450.00 savings over what I had with the Swan. And I'll call back tomorrow to see if I can convert to AP.
