We had an interesting conversation with the DVC Rep in the kiosk at the Beach Club last week. Among the many things we talked about was the status of Tokyo Disney as a DVC destination. He specifically told us that Tokyo Disney would become available in the future, possibly the near future. He said that the it was definitely in the works and that all that needed to be done was to work out the contract language. Of course, we don't really know what that means, but maybe it won't be long. I'd love to visit Tokyo one day.

He also said that they were discussing ways to make more DVC merchandise available for sale. He specifically mentioned the possibility of a catalog.

Thank would be interesting. How about paris as well. That catalogue will be great as well. Interesting developments. If only CM conversations had more credibility.

Fuuny you should mention Tokyo. Though I have never been one with an urge to visit all the parks - WDW suites me just fine - after reading about DisneySea earlier today, I am certainly thinking of it. I have to figure out the conversion thing to know if it is $$ feasible.

Does anyone know if English is spoke throughout the park?

Disneyland Paris is already in the Disney Collection. The great thing about DLP is that park tickets are included with the room! So the points you pay are for your room *and* admission to the parks - it's like getting UPH tickets for free. We're hoping that will still be the case in 3-4 years when we're looking to go to Disneyland Paris.

Mur!

We were at Tokyo Disneyland many years ago, well before they built Disney Sea. Now we're anxious to get back.

If they made it available through DVC and included tickets like they do currently for Disneyland Paris, then that would be a big plus.

English will not be a problem. There are plenty of CM's there that speak English, and signs printed in English are plentiful.

In the theaters (films) that we attended, where a presentation was in Japanese, they had the back row of seats with headphones you could put on and hear it in English.

Live performances will be in Japanese but you'd be surprised at how well you can still follow everything. Disney is Disney, the language is not that big of a deal.

Of all the countries I've traveled to (about a dozen), I think the Japanese are the most courteous and hospitable of all. (Much better than ourselves here in the US, and more so than GB (which is my favorite European country).

Definitely plan a trip. You'll love it.

IMHO, getting the necessary approval for buying real estate in a foreign country might be difficult. But, at the very least, Tokyo should participate in the Disney Classic collection like DLP and DL.
