DH and I ate at Toyko Dining last week twice (loved it!).
We had dinner at 8:00 Monday May 5th. This was our first time here and we really enjoyed the entire experience. We were seated in front of the sushi bar so I got to watch the 3 "sushi girls" at work. I got the sake sampler which I found to be a good value and did enjoy. DH had a mixed drink but I forget the name- he finished it quickly and considered another.
We had shrimp rolls and shrimp tempura rolls- very nice! I also got the salad with ginger dressing and it was very good (even had an asparagus spear in it). DH got the shrimp and scallop tempura which was served with rice and some seaweed salad. I got the scallop tempura served with the same. We were both very pleased with everything and the dipping sauce was very nice.
The service was excellent and we finished dinner before Illuminations. We decided to not hog a table and went outside to view it from the deck and had a nice view that didn't have people crawling all over us (except for the person who came up to photograph it over my shoulder and whose fanny pack was pressed against me. I think her photo has half of my very irritated face in it and she moved away.)
We returned for lunch on Thursday May 8th (AP discount of 10% at lunchtime). We got a corner window seat (sweet!
) and was remembered by our server although she was not our server the other night.
I got a glass of sake- my favorite from the trio sampler the previous visit and DH got the same drink again. We both got a sushi roll and I got a tempura sampler appetizer for my meal (a piece each of asparagus, zuccini, chicken and shrimp).
I can't express enough how wonderful the service is and several questions I had were answered graciously. I was invited to stand and observe at the sushi bar because I was asking some questions about making sushi rolls (I hope to try this week). We will definitely be back!

I LOVE sushi and DH enjoys it too. We wanted to have a nice night out without the kids and I thought Tokoyo Dining sounded like a great place to do that. I am even more excited now that I read your posts.
