Would you go to just for the regular menu or pick another restaurant entirely?

we do not eat the sushi there as it is dumbed down for American palates( well the entire menu is as far as that goes).

if you have eaten In Tokyo and are expecting the same level of food, you will be disappointed.

if you want one step up from Benihana, you will be happy. the regular menu is perfectly acceptable as long as you aren't a (real) Japanese food snob.

I had the tempura chicken last vacation and thought it was good. It's definitely not a sushi-only type of place.

We ate there in May. My husband had the tempura shrimp and scallops. The shrimp was excellent. My son and I split the panko crusted chicken. I thought it didn't have much taste. My picky eating son loved it so I would recommend it for the less adventurous eater. I didn't much like the miso soup or the side vegetables either. But the restaurant was so pretty with a gorgeous view of the WS that we might try it again. Next time I would get the tempura shrimp.

1) Remember, "sushi" refers to the vinegar rice, not the seafood.
2) You can always choose from
. . . sushi, raw - seafood and rice wraps
. . . sushi, cooked - seafood and rice wraps
. . . shashimi - thinly sliced raw seafood without rice
. . . nigiri - sliced seafood atop rice bundle
3) If in doubt, ask the itamae (chef) for a recommendation.

I just read tokyo dining review and their entire family ordered non-sushi item.
Hopefully this helps you.

I feel that Tokyo Dining's sushi is not as good as Kimonos so I don't order sushi there. ey definitely don't have fun/creative sushi either. But it was nice to dine by the big windows and watch Illumination from there. It has one of the best view IMO.

We don't eat sushi (I don't eat fish at all), and we loved Tokyo Dining. We had the steaks and they were wonderful. We have been trying the various table service restaurants in the parks. This is the list of those that we have tried in the order that we like them:
Chefs de France
Brown Derby
Tokyo Dining
La Hacienda de San Angel
Rose & Crown
Nine Dragons
Marrakesh
