Hi guys! Would like to try something different on next trip and like the look of Tokyo Dining.............would love to hear from anyone who has eaten there, what did you think? Can you see Illuminations from there? Is is child friendly (age 10) and anyone got any photos?
Thanks so much!

. . . pretty authentic
. . . especially the sushi

Can you see Illuminations from there?
. . . from a few window seats, yes
. . . but they are coveted
. . . and people get ADR's early and stay at the seat for Illuminations
. . . so, the length of time might be long for a kid to last

Is is child friendly (age 10) and anyone got any photos?
. . . for the most part, yes
. . . but, they need to like Japanese food
. . . if this is the first time, do Teppan Edo
. . . hibachi cooking is more Americanized

I thought it was wonderful. You'll have a great time, and some great food! The service is great, and it's a beautiful little place.

I think it would be tough to experience Illuminations here though, even from a window seat. I suggest eating earlier, then heading out to the promenade to see the show. Here are a couple of pics:

Have you looked at the menu to see if you would like to try anything there? There are also some pictures as well found here.

I agree with everything the PP said. Now with that said. Last Oct, my cousin's and I went to WDW and were had FD. Two of us love sushi, one not a fan of anything but simple grilled chicken, veggies etc, but she did enjoy trying Tokyo Dining. She had the Grilled Breast of Chicken - Grilled chicken breast served with seasonal vegetables, steamed rice, and your choice of original Japanese sauce: teriyaki, ponzu or miso.

As long as you (and others in your party) are open to trying 'new" things then it really should be no problem. As far as child friendly, the only thing I saw that was child friendly was there meal was served in a monorail. (And I have to say my whole table asked if we could get that as well because we are all kids at heart). Here's photo's of my meal which I am sorry is half eaten. I forgot to take pictures till halfway through.

Ginza Gozen - Tempura and sushi combination
The white plate held about 6 pieces of sushi, the yellow bowl held seaweed salad, in the middle in the rice and in the basket is shrimp and veggie tempura. Personally I really enjoyed this

Green Tea Pudding
I have to say I love all tea, esp green tea and I thought this would be a lovely dessert and while it was not the worst I would try something different for dessert next time.

Hope you enjoy it if you go.

One of my favorite restaurants at Disney and very underrated. Great service, beautiful restaurant, very good food. Yes, you can see illuminations if you have a window table but obviously, not everyone gets a window table.

If this is your first Japanese meal.... They have two Bento Box style meals. These allow a sampling of several items which for a first try might be a good option. DD and I enjoy this restaurant and eat here pretty much each trip.

The kids meals are served in a monorail looking dish... pretty kid friendly choices on the menu, too.

Thank you so much for all your opinions and the beautiful photographs......my son likes rice, noodles, chicken etc so should be fine! And I am open to trying something new!
