Tokyo Dining at Epcot on NYE

Ever since I booked my NYE trip, I've been trying to find a way to get a reserved spot for the fireworks show. I managed to snag an 11:30pm reservation at Tokyo Dining for the 31st. Will I be able to check in and get a standing spot out on the balcony or will I be stuck inside? And if my priority is seeing the fireworks show, should I just punt on the dinner reservation and hope for the best with finding a decent spot around the lagoon (and camping out there for a few hours). Thanks in advance for any helpful advice anyone can provide!

That viewing location is open to the public so there is no need for a reservation if you want to stake out s spot there. However, the view isn't the best because of the torii and the trees, so if I were going to stake out a spot early I'd find a better one.

I'll be honest ... the fireworks for NYE are so massive, there are great spots to be found everywhere without making an ADR.

Most people will camp out on the grass berms (Epcot moves the fences down to the water for NYE to open up those areas for people) along the walkway to World Showcase for the fireworks starting at like 5 p.m.

I've never staked out a spot more than 15-20 minutes before the midnight fireworks have started and have always had a great view.
