Hey all!

I'm still trying to figure out which longhouse to request for our trip next month. In my research (on Tikiman's website) I noticed that the next scheduled rehab for the Tokelau longhouse is in 2005. Does anyone know when it is due to start/end? Any additional info would be greatly appreciated regarding this.

Thank you!!

Thank you Tikiman! I really appreciate the heads up. During the rehab, is the entire longhouse normally shut down - or only parts of it? Our trip is in May (18-26th to be exact) and after much mulling over thought that Tokelau might be the "perfect" longhouse for us to request.

Thanks again!

They were saying that the building would remain open but now I am hearing that people are being told that the buildings will close. I guess we will know the end of this month when Tahiti gets worked on if they are going to close the building or not.

Tokelau is a great location. I would want to stay there if I were in a garden view room.

Aloha

I have a reservation for the Tokelau in June 3rd. After checking your website I call Disney reservations. At that time they said they had no information on the Tokelau building being renovated. If this building is out of commission in June what other longhouse would you suggest?

Samoa, FIji, Rarotonga and Aotearoa have great garden views. Just about all the longhouses have good garden view rooms but Rapa Nui has one sode facing a parking lot and Tuvalu garden view rooms are not good at all.

brynnsandra: Thanks for your post too. I'll be sure to ask when I do call and see what they say regarding Tokelau. I was originally thinking of requesting Rapi Nui (mainly due to it having balconies on both upper floors, but it seemed a bit further away), Rarotonga (for it be close to pretty much everything) or Samoa (pretty close to most things too), but now after a lot of reading on Tikiman's awesome site I changed my mind. :-) One of our big requests (besides being non-smoking) is having either a patio or balcony. We have 2 dd's and the little one will be needing to take a nap. Having a balcony or patio to go out on would be great!

Tikiman: Thanks again for all your awesome insight, I really do appreciate it!! Tokelau seems to meet all my requests. :-) Now if all goes well and I get a room there (if it's open) that would be wonderful!
