I am embarrassed that I can't remember this....

What is in a 1-bdrm unit in the way of toiletries? Shampoo, soap, lotion? I know you don't get new stuff each day, but are there some at check-in? I'm trying to figure out how much to take with us for a 6-nt. stay.

This will be our first time going to WDW with a baby, so I'm nervous about packing, which I'm doing now. I think I've spent so much time worrying about what the baby needs that I've forgotten what the rest of us need :-)

Each bathing space should have shampoo and conditioner and shower gel. So the tub will have some and the separate shower will have some. You'll get it replaced on day four when your towels are replaced.

My notes from last year at BCV -

IN THE ROOM (1 BR VILLA):
4 bath towels
5 hand towels
2 bath mats
12 wash cloths
1 box of Tide (for 1 load) - but they've changed brands since
2 H2O Aquatics bath soap bar, 2.33 oz
2 H2O Aquatics facial soap bar, 1.28 oz
2 H2O Aquatics shower gel
2 H2O Aquatics conditioner
2 H2O Aquatics shampoo
1500 watt Sunbeam bright saver hair dryer

Thank you both - that helped. Now I know that we don't need to bring much with us.

I thought that you can request more if you run out. Is that not true?

When you stay in a timeshare, you get very little for free. Toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, yes. Shampoo, etc, no.

This is not exactly what you were asking, but... I traveled to WDW for many years with my babies, I packed very lightly for the little ones. It was so much cheaper to buy diapers and formula in Florida that I only took enough for day one and then bought the rest and extra to bring home to Utah. That was probably 8 years ago. I don't know about now, but save some space and buy when you get there. It was a lot cheaper than Utah!

:tigger:

They also sell big portions of the shampoo, conditioner etc. in the gift shops. I like to get them to take home and if I run out of the free stuff while there, I can use it as well.

They had a sale on those in September, and I also got the DVC Members discount on top of that.

I love the Disney toiletries, and I've often thought of buying the larger ones for home. I always talk myself out of it because or price. I would love to find some on sale. I'll have to take a look!

Thanks for the idea Brandis!

(we leave for the airport in 10 hours assuming weather doesn't cause a problem-so excited)

I actually don't mind packing the diapers and stuff since that will mean extra space in our suitcases to bring back souvenirs. I actually have a bad memory of a trip to Hawaii in which we spent way too much time going to stores to buy things that we forgot or otherwise needed, so I really try to make sure I can spend my vacation time without errands. Interesting that there is such a price difference though.

They used to stock lotion along with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in all DVC villas but seems like they stopped doing that a few years ago. May be a good reason to splurge on a large bottle for yourself!
