Toilet Paper question

Is there a website that lists how you set everything up and drain everything? I'm sure DH knows what he's doing but I'd love to read it just for my sake as well.

Also regarding winterizing your unit...

www.rv.net.
great site..tons of info. from rving to campground suggestions. Go to the "forums" where you will find forums specifically for the type of camper you have also. Travel Trailer, 5th Wheel...pop up...you name it. There are forums for campgrounds..family camping ....and a general campfire section where you can post about anything.

I learned the hard way many years ago NOT to leave the valve open on the holding tank. The solids clog up the tank in time and then you have a major mess on your hands. As others have already stated on this thread, wait until the tank is half or more full, and the solids will be held in suspension that way. Then open the tank and it will all go slurping out. Empty the sewerage tank first, then the gray water to wash it out. We have use regular toilet paper for years without any problem. I'm too cheap to spend that extra money. Campers stores have some neat flushing devices you can get to thorougly flush out the tank from time to time. We use it at the end of each trip. We always travel with a few gallons of water slushing around in the tank. So much for todays toilet training tips.

Just a tip for those self winterizers out there. Don't for get to turn the crossover valve in the correct direction when dewinterizing. It can be easy to miss. "Honey why is the hot water not working? The unit is firing up just fine. But my shower is cold. Find tools check unit...arg!"

Just a warning about dumping!!!!

Before you dump the black tank, I would recommend you first open the gray valve to let some water in to make sure the drainage system is not clogged and the hose is sealed tightly with no leaks!. It is far better to find a problem having gray water going thru the hose than having black water going thru it. Also make sure to use those disposable gloves when working with the waste system,.

RV toilet paper is really not necessary. You just have to make sure that the tp you do use will break up easily. I agree with the other posters who say to do the test.

We tried the test with Charmin, which is what we use at home, and it didn't break up. That's why I like it at home:)
We have been using Angel Soft for years in our rv with no problems. It breaks up quickly in water but is nice and soft where you need it!
