Toddlers on Disney Busses

Best advice....don't worry about others are thinking. Don't sweat it if your stroller isn't folding as fast as you'd like it to. Getting on the bus safely is what matters.

If your twins are confident walkers or climbers, let them get on the bus ahead of you. Find a seat or spot and you'll be just fine.

If it takes a few minutes, it takes a few minutes. Poo to those who frown on it!

When my dd was 17months old - and a very good walker/climber- and the other was 5years old we worried like crazy....for the frist day. We had a big sit-n-stand stroller in tow as well as the kids and a bunch of junk, I mean bags! My DH took care of the stroller and bags and I tried my best to get the kids seated on the bus. After the first day, DH and I thought "Who cares if we take a few mins to sit down! This is OUR vacation"

We just got back with our 2 yr. old twins and used the bus every day.
The first morning I said we'd try without a stroller to see how much they would walk on their own. When we went back to the room in the afternoon, we took the stroller and never left it in the room again. It was a bit of a hassle, but definately worth it to not carry tired kids.
We had a ziploc with 1 small change of clothes for the twins and another small ziploc with some wet wipes and we kept that in the bottom of the stoller all the time since we could easily collapse it with that still in it. I carried a smaller sized purse (we called it a bag so that my DH would carry it sometimes! :rotfl: ) and that had a few necessities and a couple small bottles of water and my camera. We didn't need to worry about diapers or sippy cups...
They always wanted to sit in the stroller until the bus came wich was fine because then they weren't swinging on those chains all the time!
Ours is a Graco Duo (front/back double) and I can collapse with one hand which was a big thing... I seen many people struggling with folding their strollers and had the basket full of stuff and they were having a hard time.
When it was all of us, it worked fine since DH would take both kids and I would take the stroller or vice versa. Our DS9 would carry any extras we had.
Our biggest problem was room. Our buses were sometimes packed and then I would sit with both kids on my lap and the stroller at my knees while DH and DS9 stood in front of me. A couple times people offered to give up their seat but usually we waited for the next bus if it looked crowded. Park closing was the worst.
A couple times I had the stroller and the twins by myself and I did have people offer to help. THANK YOU!!:)
We tried not to leave the parks when it was a huge crowd trying to get on a bus. We would go early or hang out and wait for the crowd to go down a bit.
One thing I haven't seen mentioned is the dreaded Bus Nap. We went back to our room most days for a little rest. If we waited too long, the twins would fall asleep on the bus and then wake up by time we got to the room and wouldn't go back to sleep. After the first day, we learned to leave before they were too tired if we wanted to have a nap in the room.
So we would recommend bringing the stroller that works best for the parks and deal with the bus rather than one that is easy for the bus but will kill your back walking in the park.
Good luck and have fun!!!!!!:yay:

Thanks SO much!

No offence to anyone else who offered their opinion but advice and personal stories with someone who has been there is ALWAYS the best!:thumbsup2

My DH and I have it down to a science or at least we did when we had the double stroller going. Here's what we do:

I make sure to throw a flat shopping bag in the bottom of the stroller. When we get to the bus area, waiting for the bus, I grab it and throw into it anything that has accumulated during our day (empty popcorn bins, wet socks from the spray jets, park maps that I want to keep). it is much easier to have one place to throw all these 'extras' so you can keep your hands free. Then, when bus approaches, the kids get out, DH takes stroller and folds it and I grab kids' hands (putting backpack on my back) - DH walks in back door of bus (if opened) and stands at back door, putting stroller on floor between him and the pole. I sit with one kid on lap and one kid next to me. WHen bus stops - dh takes stroller and goes out back door and has it all setup and ready for me when I get out with kids.

We love the buses and would take them MOST of the time if we had a car there. However, if we know we're staying till park close (after fireworks) - we might take the car so we could walk to the car with kids in stroller.

The most difficult times is when one or both kids fall asleep in the stroller. We've done it - but it IS difficult.

You'll have it down pat after a few uses.
