TODDLER'S iN DiSNEYLAND

This is probably on a thread somewhere but I couldn't find it
What are some rides that you fellow Disney Lovers know of that toddlers, age 3, can't ride?? I havn't been to Disneyland since I before I was pregnant with my son, so I never paid attention to what wasn't toddler friendly. I know the obvious like Indiana Jones, Splash Mtn, Space Mtn..but what else?! We are going the end of March and ya'll would help me out ALOT if you let me know the info =]

Also, Im from Southern Cali but on the other side of the grapvine from Disneyland. IDK how the weather is down there in spring, but does it often rain alot in March?! Im not worried about the crowds, I'm scared of the rain =/

Beyond the obvious with height requirements, a lot depends on your particular child. I know a LOT of little kids that do not do well on the "dark rides" throughout Fantasyland as much as it is their parents first stop. Rides like Peter Pan, Mr. Toads, Pinocchio, Snow White seem to scare some really little kids. It's sort of a question of your child, but many have shared that experience (disappointment) here after their little ones don't enjoy what we as adults consider some of the classics.

I came across this and remembered your post. My daughter was 2 last year and we went on all the rides she was able to go on by height. I don't think she found the dark rides scary. We talked with her throughout the rides and pointed out exciting stuff. She did say that the haunted mansion was scary after we got off the ride but the others were fine. All kids are different though. Hope this helps.

My DD's first trip was when she was 2 1/2. We rode everything she was tall enough for but she is not really an apprehensive child at all. I also spent time before we went talking about "pretend' scary stuff and we watched a few online ride videos of some of the possible scary rides like HM and Snow White. So by the time we were on the ride she knew what to expect out of it. She didn't like Mr. Toad's hell scene and was confused on how the whale could swallow our boat on Story Book Land Canal. She is now 7 and doesn't like to ride the Matterhorn because of the scary white monster's eyes but loves the Indiana Jones ride even with the huge snake.

We just went to DLR this past October with our 3 year old dd and 5 year old ds. (DD was almost 3.5). I really was concered about which rides the 3 year old would like or hate. She is tall past 40in and could ride on most everything. However, just because she is tall doesn't mean she would be ready for them... As we approached different rides she wanted to go on everything. I tried telling her she would be scared and wouldn't like it. BOY was I WRONG! Her favorite ride was the Matterhorn, had to ride several times. I did however remind her about the Yeti, and that he was going to try to scare her, but that he really isn't so scary. She loved the Yeti, not scared at all. She went on Splash, she went on all the Dark Rides. We made sure to tell her that it would be dark and she loved them all. She even went on Space Mountain, which I had no intention on going on for myself, but I had to because she insisted. I do NOT like that ride, and she loved it! she went on EVERYTHING possible and couldn't get enough. (She was mad that she couldn't go on Screamin' with her Daddy).

This honestly shocked me, I expected her to be afraid of a lot of the rides and planned on holding back with her while dh and ds rode. But she would have nothing of the sort.

One thing that I did that was suggested by others here is to let her see the rides on You Tube before our trip, that seemed to help. Mommy got tired of the You Tube requests, but hey, it apparantly helped!

So be aware of the requirements and prepare for anything! Explain to your child what the ride will be like and ask if they want to try it or not. He/She may suprise you.

My ds was 3 1/2 when we went and 41". He also wasn't afraid of anything. He went on everything at DL that we went on except for Indiana Jones because he wasn't tall enough. At DCA he was too short for Screamin', some of the pier rides (orange stinger and the like), and Grizzly River Run.

He was upset about the ones he was too short for and wanted to go on them too.

Oh my! Toddlers Gone Wild!

It can be a scary thing. Toddlers in Dl. or in WDW! Or at your local public park. They can become quite the menace. Once when I was minding my own business, like I some times do, I was run over by a gang of toddler miscreants, they left their little foot prints on my scalp. Before they ran off, they took my car keys and money. The last I heard, they were seen cruising down Hollywood and Vine, trying to pick up girls. I hope the Beverly Hills Police Department, can stop them. These can be trying times.

Im looking forward to going to Disneyland for the first time with a toddler thanks to you all. Now I know what to expect.
Regardless, it's going to be the time of his life
I will be sure to share my experience when our trip is complete.
Ohh && BTW I after everyone posted the height requirments for the rides, I measured him.... 39" HAHA. Almost there.
