We are heading down next week. My son is 15 months old and has been walking for a few weeks, so he's interested in a lot but still falls down a good bit. What places should we make sure to let him explore? He likes checking things out and I want to give him some walking time in the parks - not totally rely on the stroller.

There is a few places in each park that have an area where little ones can walk around. Dumbo for instance has a play area while you wait to get on the ride. My DS's are 8 and 4 and they both have been every year they've been alive. Plenty for a young one to do.

We took our DD at 14 months last year, and she had been walking just a few months at that point. She loved the little play area near the exist to Splash Mountain.

There's also a little treehouse to explore at the entrance of the Winnie the Pooh ride.

We found the Bone Yard play area in AK to be a little much for her at that age -- the kids were bigger and faster -- so we skipped that.

With the crowds probably starting to build next week I would say the Tom Sawyers island might be the safest place to explore. When my son was a toddler he spent a few hours running around the fort over there and loved it!

I think at EPCOT innoventions area is usually pretty empty unless you're there at peak season.

At MK there's an area between CoP and Buzz that's usually empty that he can run around in. Unless Buzz is there signing and taking pics. Then it can get a little busy.
