Has anyone ever traveled to Walt Disney World with toddler twins? My girls are 15 months and are going down next week for their second time. This time, however, its just mom and dad - no aunts uncles and grandparents! Our friends will be there as well with their three (1, 5, and 7 year olds).

We are wondering what positives and negatives you encountered. I am sure its much the same as with any young child, just doubled up, much like at home.

[/IMG]hi yes we went in dec and my girls had just turned 3..the reason we're going again sun is becuz of how well it went..trust me i know your worries..what if they get sick, earache, throwing up, fussy on plane, no rides for their age, blah blah, blah...we had a blast.:yay: one of my girls did get motion sickness on the plane. we gave dramamine on the way back and she was fine. make sure you give them something to suck on when the planes taking off, bring toys for them and snacks on the plane. as far as the world goes. thats the least of your problems. they can enjoy so much and if they do get sick(mine fell and scraped her knees pretty bad)they have a wonderful emergency type center there. the nurses were so nice.the baby care center is fantastic. palces where you can change them, high chairs, rocking chairs..you'll be fine. go and have fun:banana:

I brought my girls for the first time when they had just turned 2. We had a great time and that is such a fun age for Disney.

I would set a leisurely pace and pick out a few main things to do each day.

Another thing, the rental stroller aren't the best for kids that age. If you have one that reclines so they can nap in it I would recommend bringing it.

Have a great time! :goodvibes

It is great to know that it is possible to take twin girls at this age. I also have twin girls and plan to take them to their first Disney when they are about 2. Now I am more sure that this is a good idea!

We took our twins for the first time when they had just turned two, and we had a great time. It was very much a leisurely trip - we stopped several dozen times going down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom to pick up every.single.piece.of.confetti. It took forever - but, the girls will still talk about all their "Mickeys".

I agree about the Disney strollers - not the most comfy for the little guys.

We still have fond memorys of that first time - it was just so great to see our girls really get into the magic. In hindsight, I definately think we could've brought them earlier, for our family probably around 15-18 months would've been great - but my DH was terrified of flying with them at that young of an age!

Also, it can be a different experience with just having Mom and Dad there. Are the twins your only children? If so, it's really not all that different than at home, there's one parent for each child.

The only negative that I can say about our first trip was the time we went - we were there the second week of December, and it was SO hot. It had been their hottest December in about 15 years, and blah. If I remember correctly, it was over 85 every day we were there - and it snowed twice at home! My poor son was so confused, he kept asking if it was December in Florida!

Definately keep an eye on them for dehydration issues - no fun at all.

I think you'll have a blast! Just remember to save those commando trips until they're a bit older! :)

We took our triplets when they just turned 2, and it was not as bad as we thought it was going to be. We were getting ourselves ready for a nightmare! LOL!! The only part that was bad, is that we brought a double stroller with us and a single stroller. The 1st day there our double stroller broke ( a bolt broke!!) so we were down a stroller!!!!! We had to rent the stroller so walking to and from the car & monarail was NOT fun!!! Near the end of the day NO ONE would walk, so poor DH had to carry 2!!!!
Besides that I think we had a much nicer time with just the 5 of us. We went 6 months earlier with grandparents.

Why was it better without grandparents? I'm sure it is a lot less help just the 5 of you, but less coordination makes it better? I am very curious.

I just felt more in control. LOL. We did not have Nana or Papa letting them do stuff they were not suppose to do. Do not get me wrong it is always nice to have a one on one thing going on. But I guess I always feel bad. I do not want to put anyone out. I am weird like that, even though it is there grandparents I feel like they should not have to worry what a kid is doing or have to watch them. So that part sorta stress's me out a little.
The main reason I liked having extra hands with us is because I was able to see the look on there face's when they were on a ride or saw like Pooh Bear!!

Reading your post was like reading something I would have written myself!

First of all, the grandparents in my case are also Nana and Papa....and (as all grandparents do) they are lax with the rules and opt more for distracting bad behavior than correcting it.

I also know what you mean by getting stressed out by trying not to ask too much of others in watching your kids.

Will have to take all of this into consideration when deciding if it is a good idea to invite grandparents or not. Thanks!

No problem!! ;)
I did like it because it was nice to be able to see the kids with Nana & Papa. Either way I am sure you will have a great time. I am not sure if you said this was there first trip or not, if it is maybe it would be better to take along the extra hands to see how the kiddos take to everything. And it is GREAT to have someone else hold your kid so you can see the look on there face on rides!! (I cried the entire ride of It's A Small World) The look was priceless!!!:cloud9:
