Toddler travelers: how much were you *really* able to do?

Just back from Saturday at MK with (almost)DS3 and DS1. Our biggest challenge was handling DS3's tantrums after he decided he wanted cookies as soon as we got there. But we got there at rope drop, got right in to see Mickey at Town Square Theater (longest wait of the day despite not being behind too many people), cruised Main Street, bounced around and covered 90% of Fantasyland, diaper change, lunch at Pinocchio's, then made our way for the hotel. We agreed that if they both passed out before we left for naps @ 11:45 we'd try to stick out the whole day in the park. Sure enough by the time we got back to Town Square they were both out, so we turned around and ended up in Tomorrowland and I circled around the Astro Orbiter under the PeopleMover track for shade for about 30 mins (the noise was great), then went inside Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. for some a/c where DS3 woke up too soon. We did Dumbo and then tried to do Casey's and Barnstormer, but he wasn't having it (it was SO HOT) so we took the train back to the gate and went to the hotel for a few hours. We came back around 5, did Adventureland until the skys opened up on Jungle Cruise and the night was pretty much toast at that point after losing a couple hours waiting for t-storms to pass. Otherwise I think we could have done at least the rest of Frontierland.

In other words, besides the odd tantrum for treats, it really wasn't that much of a challenge, especially since we had DS1 with us. momto2js nailed it with the food bit. We made sure to have TONS of snacks with us, which definitely helped. Take away the heat and the t-storms and I think we could have easily covered the whole park not even trying that hard (minus the biggest rides). I think the crowds weren't too bad, although I'd hate to see Main Street any more crowded than it was, and I think it helped having FP for the rides that weren't necessarily our first choices, but that had typically long wait times leading up to our trip.

We were actually able to do A LOT! My 2.5yo son is very hyperactive so the key for us was to Keep Moving! We had a pre opening ADR & FP for 9, 10, &11. Once these were used up we got another and continued getting more.

We had already decided parades and fireworks were not important so that helped.

This is great to know! My son will be 2.5 and is full speed all the time. And we're not interested in fireworks and if we happen to see a parade, so be it. Thanks!

Another thing that worked great at that age were the slip on diapers or pull ups. This way if she was just wet, I didn't have to wait for the changing table in the bathroom, I could just take her into a regular stall with me.

Another awesome tip.
