I was just on the mouseforless, and I saw something about a toddler menu. Does anyone know where I can find all of the restaurants that have these and what they serve?

TIA!

I've been looking over the menus too and unfortunatly, you'll just have to scroll through each one to see if they offer a toddler meal or not. From what I've found there's only 1 choice at each restaurant that offers it. And the restaurant will either have toddler mac and cheese or chicken and rice.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how big the portion sizes are?? I'm considering doing these when I can for my 3 year old. He's a good eater but I'm bringing in other foods, mainly fruit (he's a vegetarian!) and each meal appears to come w/a side and drink. I saw on one of the menus it said for ages 3 and younger but does anyone know if the portion size of say, the toddler mac and cheese matches up to the kid's meal mac and cheese portions??

I just want to make sure he'll have enough to eat. Geez, who knew going to Disney with a vegetarian non peanut butter eating kid would be so difficult! Kinda rules out most of the kid's meals they offer. He doesn't eat pizza or hot dogs either or most of the stuff off the adult menus (no salads, soups, sandwhiches, etc.), so I'm having a difficult time planning what to feed him!:headache:

Has anyone else traveled with a kid who doesn't eat most of the things at Disney? Any ideas or suggestions?? Sorry...I know I'm way off topic now....:rolleyes1

We ordered the toddler meal--good, creamy mac n'cheese--I'd guess a 4 oz portion. Came with a cup of applesauce and choice of drink for about $3 if I remember right--last purchased Dec 07.

We buy the toddler meals at least several times a month from different locations. (We've been hitting the parks almost once a weekend for the last few months.)

Here's what I know. There are 2 types of toddler meals $2.99 and about 5-8 kids meals $5.99. If your toddler is a lighter eater, as my girls are, the mac and cheese is perfect. The Arroz con pollo (VERY bland Mexican ground chicken with rice) meal is a little heavier - found at Buzz's in Tomorrowland and at the Pizza o MowMow. We will default to the kid's meals when the girls are really hungry. These consist of the chicken/mashed/veggies meals at the Plaza and French Market, pasta at the Plaza, Pizza Port, and O MowMow, PBJ (Uncrustbles meal) with Apple Slices and milk, chicken fingers at the Bountiful Market, etc. Those always have drink and apple slices included. (Ask and they will substitute while sauce for red, if you are worried about stains.....)

Our favorite option though is to do the Plaza chicken dinner meal or pastas and chopped salads at the Pizza Port and have them eat off our plates. The sit down portions are very large there and will easlity feed them, too - especially the chicken and mash with green beans and the good chicken Alfredo pasta.

Hope this helps.

I just saw the question from the person with the vegetarian kid.

I forgot in my other post that my kids split the kid's meal of mac and cheese at the Cafe Orleans on Friday (7.99) and it was big enough for 2 hungry little girls. I tried some and, wow, it was tasty and different (spiral noodles and lighter cheese sauce) than the toddler meal yellow goo - which BTW is not easy to remove from clothes (FYI):laundy: . You can get a larger portion of the moderately tasty yellow goo variety at the Carnation Cafe, while you are eating a tasty chef salad or something.

The toddler portion is about half size of the kid's portion of Mac and Cheese. The French Market has a new adult dish on the menu that is a vegetable gratin and it looks way tasty - all kinds of veggies in a mushroom cream sauce baked in cheese. It's a start for other items. The sit down restaurants

They have a marinara pasta at both the Plaza, the Pizza Port, and over at o MowMow in DCA. I think the Mission Tortilla restaurant has the Arroz con pollo, so that won't work - but the Tortilla Factory next door gives away free tortillas when you go through the quick presentation. My girls make us go every visit, since it's right next to Baby Care.

Does that help?

Thanks YellowMickey...that veggie gratin you were talking about sounds good. However, my son is like lots of other kids and won't really eat stuff that's "mixed" together. I know, I know...

I think I've resigned myself to packing in lots of food for him every day. His diet really consists of dairy products (no eggs!), lots of fruit and carbs. I do know they sell fresh fruit in the parks, however, I'm not willing to pay $2 for a banana:banana: Or some such ridiculous amount...

He has to be the world's pickiest eater! Of course I'm sure all mom's say that but mine is definately up there. And before anyone wonders...yes, I started him early on lots of different things. I just have yet to meet another mom of a 3 year old who has chosen to be a vegetarian. I've even tried blending chicken:eek: and mixing it with rice, no such luck.

Even the meatless options are things he doesn't eat. No PB so can't have the uncrustables, doesn't eat pizza, no soup so that rules out the veggie chili...I think I'm just making myself crazy here! I'm even worried about the mac and cheese (which is his favorite treat) since he will only eat one brand. Do other mom's and kid's have these same issues???

On a side note, does anyone know if you can buy just a plain tortilla and beans? Crazy, but he won't eat them together already made, ie. the bean and cheese burrito kids meal. I can just imagine the looks when I order the bean burrito meal but with the tortilla and beans separate! :rotfl2:

My son is vegetarian (as are we), and although he enjoys his organic PB&J sandwiches very much, he cannot eat Uncrustables, as they are filled with junk his system can't handle. (corn syrup and high fructose corn syrup)

He won't touch the mac and cheese after smelling the version Blue Bayou makes.

We pack things in and go through the menus to find options. We feed him at odd times, when he's hungry and we/he sees/thinks of something he would like.

We got to French Market just after it closed, before the menu changed, when he actually wanted some mac/cheese, and he just stayed hungry until we left the parks and we went by Millie's. They have a spectacular mac and cheese dinner, which we supplemented with garlic bread and a huge salad, all to go. It was SO good.

We resisted buying the fruit until this last trip. It is $$, but it is probably the BEST fruit I have EVER had. It is truly delicious. We normally eat organic, especially apples and grapes (and strawberries), but those puppies were worth the pesticides, I tell you. We pre-budget our trip with Disney Gift Cards, and just use those at the fruit carts that accept them, (or use them on everything else so the few transactions for fruit make up a very small amount of money) and I know that in the future you'll find us eating more and more Disneyland fruit, b/c it is SO good.

If he'll eat mango, they sell sliced mango with a wedge of lime. Hubby was unsure about it, b/c he loves plain mango and never even thought to put lime on it, but was shocked at how the mango tasted even better with the lime on it!

As for the beans and tortilla, I bet you any amount of money that they will be HAPPY to do that for you. At Rancho del Zocalo and Cocina Cucamonga, they just make it when you order it, so I'm very sure there would be NO problem putting the beans in one part of the plastic Mickey plate (face and ears each hold food, we always wipe them out and take them home, we have 7 or so now), the rice in another part, with a tortilla in the middle.

With the kids' meals they have apple wedges wrapped in a little bag, so that's separated, too. Carrots as well in a little bag. Very kid friendly!

I need to post this right now, but if you search back about a week you'll see a post by ME about vegetarian food being actually vegetarian food, and in that post you'll see a link to a gluten free site which lists the phone number of Chef Chris at DLR. He is absolutely a JOY to talk to, he is in charge of helping guests with food allergies or avoidances, and if you leave him a detailed message, he will get back to you and help you out in finding food or even making your son something he will love!!!

If your son will eat penne pasta with marinara (with or without cheese), Plaza Inn's is very very good. The kid's meal is huge, with a big portion, half a breadstick, carrots, apple wedges, and a drink (we get the small Dasani water bottle)!

Don't even get me started on the Uncrustables. I can't believe DLR offers those for kid's meal and charges $6.00 for them. There are so many healthier, more creative options!

GREAT tip about saving the Mickey plates. I totally plan to do that!!

Bumbershoot! Thanks for the info on the beans and tortillas, that will certainly make things easier. Do you happen to know if the beans they serve are vegetarian? He won't eat traditional restaurant beans so even when we go to a Mexican restaurant, I'm the crazy mom packing in veggie refried beans and whole wheat tortillas. While I scarf down a chicken burrito no less! :rolleyes1

I know there's lots of pasta options at the parks however my son eats only the traditional spaghetti or macaroni shapes and refuses to touch a fettucine, penne, lasgna, you name it!

We will definately give the fruit carts a try. It's just hard to justify spending that much $$, no matter how great the mango tastes! However, I am excited for him to try the pinnapple spears since that's one of his favorites!

Oh well, we have a rental car and booked a hotel room with a fridge (for this specific reason) so I guess I'll just pack in as much as possible and hope for the best!

Yes, they are vegetarian. Their Mexican rice is, too. :goodvibes

From talking with Chef Chris, he helped me realize that they want to make as many people happy at once as possible. So a vegetarian bean will make vegetarians happy (no animal fat), dieters happy (lower in fat), Hindus happy (no beef fat), and countless religions happy (no pork fat). And most omnivores won't even notice or really care. It's in their best interest to make as many things veggie as possible, when meat isn't required, and that's what they do! Cool, eh?

You could contact Chef Chris and see if they can get some spaghetti noodles for your stay... He said that they recently made a special lasagna for a man who was not only vegan (NO animal products or byproducts) but was also into raw food, so nothing is heated over 120 degrees. If they can make him a lasagna, they can get your son spaghetti noodles, LOL.

Oh, just checked the allears menu, don't forget Pizza Port:

Mars-inara with Meteoric Meatballs - Spaghetti and Celestial tomato sauce served with two meatballs $8.99
Mars-inara a la carte. $8.49

(I left the meat info in there to see the description, then the a la carte info to show you can get it without the meat)

OP, I'm so sorry, for some reason I thought CC was you. :upsidedow

I would have sworn that the toddler meal I saw was a TINY little lidded cup of mac and cheese, with a tiny bit of applesauce. Itsy portion. That's what I saw, but I might not be correct.
