I'm wondering what activities, rides, etc. were of interest to toddlers in the different Disney parks. I'm not worried about what will be of interest to the older one (4), but I'm wondering if there are any toddler-centric areas or activities. Thanks for your input!

Girl, we're thinking of going when she is close to 2. She doesn't have any favorite characters yet, but she loves stuffed animals so I'm hoping she'll be into the characters.

We first took my son when he was 2 1/2 and he LOVED it.

He's always been into animals, so the Kilimanjaro Safari and the animal viewing trails in Animal Kingdom were right up his alley. So was the Boneyard - the dinosaur playground at Animal Kingdom. He ran around, climbed, slipped down the slides, jumped, etc... and had a blast.

In EPCOT, he particularly enjoyed the Seas pavilion (I think he fell in love with the manatees) and actually really liked the Land pavilion was well. He liked watching the Chinese acrobats doing their thing at the World Showcase, and entertained himself in the red phone booths in the UK pavilion. He also loved the big water fountain, watching the water "dance" to music. (At that age, it doesn't take much!) After dark, the sparkling pathways absolutely fascinated him. He could have spent all night walking on "the stars in the ground."

In Hollywood Studios, he liked the Disney Junior Live show.

At Magic Kingdom, he loved the Dumbo ride (and its queue), the Winnie the Pooh queue (more than the ride!), and the afternoon parade. He liked watching Cinderella's Carousel, though he refused to ride it. The Casey (circus train) themed splash area in Fantasyland was a HUGE favorite - he could have stayed there all day, and we went in late November, so it wasn't even that warm!

In all the parks, he LOVED meeting the characters. He practically melted onto Mickey Mouse and couldn't be pried off. Character meals were a major highlight, as were meet and greets. He watched a few Disney Jr shows, namely Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and was familiar with many characters, but we talked to him before our trip and explained that Mickey looks small on tv, but was about daddy's size when you meet him where he lives, and that Goofy, for example, is even bigger. He was a bit nervous around Goofy (who's about 7feet tall, I think?), but otherwise took the large characters in stride and loved them. Might be worth mentioning to your little ones, so they don't expect their beloved characters to be no more than the height of your tv! :)

We went for my DDs 2nd birthday. Tons and tons of small world. She is obsessed with small world.

Other than that, she liked meeting the characters (watch the Sing Along Songs that are in the parks/resorts so that they can see how big the characters are). Also she was just tall enough for Barnstormer and loved that and the Tomorrowland Speedway. Those two might depend on your DD though, mine likes "thrills" like that lol.

MK: All of Fantasyland, Tiki Room, Magic Carpets, playground by Splash. Character meet and greets if your DD is into them (mine are 5 and 2.5 and still only into unmasked characters).

Epcot: Nemo, Crush, and the rest of the Seas pavilion. Via Napoli was their favorite restaurant food wise in all of WDW.

AK: Safari, Birds of Flight, boneyard play yard.

HS: Disney Jr live, Little Mermaid, B&TB, HISTK play area.

There are a ton more attractions suitable for toddlers, these are just my kids' favorites.

We took my daughter at 18 months and she LOVED the carousel and meeting all the characters!

The sitting down rides like pooh and mermaid didn't excite her nearly as much as the carousel or character meet and greets

We took our 18 month old and he loved the area between Space Mountain and Fantasyland. It is quiet and the train comes through there. It is a good spot to relax and let them walk around a little bit. Animal Kingdon has the Dino dig area and the playground. Hollywood Studios has the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground.
