Hello! I was wondering if the MDR's have toddler-sized silverware, sippy cups, and/or bibs? I'm prepared to pack those things, but since Disney serves such a large children population, I thought they might have them. TIA!

They have cups with lids and straws and smaller forks for the little ones. There were no sippy cups or bibs. Those you have to bring yourself.

They use dessert forks and coffee spoons for the littlest travelers!

If you need sippy cups, make sure you bring a small bottle (I use a 3 oz travel bottle) of dish detergent and a bottle brush to clean them in the stateroom.

Either use disposable bibs or bibs that can be rinsed out and hung to try.

ETA: I would also highly, highly recommend utilizing the nursery during dinner time. Two hour dinners, every-single-night, can test the resolved of even the most patient parent. We pre-booked the nursery for 6:30 (our dinner started at 5:45). We would eat our salad/soup and appetizer courses while the kids ate dinner. (The servers were great about this!) Then, we took the kids to the nursery (or club) until 7:45/8:00 in which time we would finish our meal (entree and dessert/coffee) in blissful kidfree peace and sometimes even have enough time for a walk on the deck before the bedtime scramble. FYI, the nursery for the under 3s is $6 per hour.

Would you rather have them in the nursery part time every (most?) nights or the whole time (including show or adult time) every other night? Trying to decide which would be better for my 17 month and 2.75 year olds!

No they don't- or at least didn't when our daughter was 2 on 2010. She didn't have any trouble though. :goodvibes

I think that is a personal decision that only you can decide! My DH is not really into the musicals and like the comedy or movies. We took turns on who had cabin duty and who got to go out and play based on the daily schedule of events.

Like PP wrote it's a personal decision. My daughter LOVED the shows. We cruised with her at 16 months and then again just before she turned 2. On the first cruise she fell asleep half way through and missed the first show completely, but the most recent one stayed up during all the shows. She loved seeing the characters and special effects (bubbles and confetti). We used the nursey for one hour for her to play during dinner and then after dinner there was usually a dance party or family event before the main show. That worked for us but each child is different.

You can get disposable sippy cups at the big box stores. Pack of six is like 3 dollars and then wash them out on board and then toss at the end if you dont want to pack them. We took those and some of the bowls when ours were little. Now they are ok with lids and straws mostly.

We did the same thing with dinner - had them with us for the first two courses then ran them up to the nursery or club for the rest of dinner and a nice stroll afterwards. It was nice to eat the main course in peace and then enjoy the evening a little before the bedtime routine.

They had disposable bibs on the Dream last month. There was one waiting on my daughter's high chair every night. A big plastic one that her arms could go through, with a lobster on the front. Very handy.

You can also just clip the napkin around their neck like a bib then you don't have to worry about bringing your own. That's what we did.

We have disposable placemats that we got at Target that we bring to resturants and stuff like that. they are peal and stick and come with Disney cahracters on them =)

They had the table set for us each night, including kid's menu with crayons, the small cups with lid/straw full of water, and a small fork and spoon. DS really loved the fork and spoon because they looked like ours, not like "baby" stuff. We weren't provided with a bib although we did bring our own most nights. If we forgot, we took our tablemates' idea and tied the napkin like a bandana. I like the disposable peel & stick placemats, but I'm not sure how well they stick to the tablecloths. They change the linens after you each anyway, so no worries about a mess!

We didn't use nursery during dinner but might next time. They will feed them in the nursery between 5-6 pm or letting them eat with you and then going to nursery is a good idea too.

All of our kids' meals came on Mickey plates :)

If you opt for having your toddler do some full nights in the nursery and then some full nights at dinner, be aware they serve dinner in the nursery very early. I want to say it is at 5. This means that unless you drop them off quite early, you will need to feed them before dropping off. I really wish the clubs and nursery matched their dinner time with the main seating. It was tough for us because we wanted to get pictures as a family, but had to do kid's mealtime, then adult mealtime.

Thanks, everyone, for this great information!

Can someone tell me about the timing of the kid meals as compared to the adult meals? I seem to remember the kid meals coming out pretty early so the kids were finished while the adults still had several courses, but since I was just observing other tables, I could be totally wrong! If this is correct, though, could we ask for DS's meal to come at the same time as ours? Do kids get an appetizer first, or does it come at the same time as their main course, more like a side dish?

Thanks again!

Our last cruise was last june - ds1 was 2yrs old and ds2 was 9 mths old. The servers asked us when we wanted their food to come out. The kid's meals last summer were all together but we gave them some of our apps plus there was bread. I also had goldfish and cheerios that I brought with us.
