We leave for our vacation in 2 days. Pardon me if this is a repeat, I searched and couldn't find anything.

I got my DH a infant/toddlar Kelty KIDS backpack for our 16mo DS for our trip to Disney. Now I am worried that they CM will make us 'park it' out with the strollers while we are waiting in line. It's rather expensive and I don't want someone getting a new backpack at our expense.

Do you think we can have it on my DHs back while waiting in line? This is only a concern for the rides we're not baby swapping anyway. Is there somewhere next to the loading area to put it backpack while we ride.

Does the thing fold up any? If you don't fill it up with tons of stuff and can fold it, you can probably pull your boy out and carry it on with you. You might get away with wearing it in line, but if your DH isn't careful to avoid doing the "backpack spin-slam" you could end up with some pretty annoyed guests around you as they get clobbered with the thing. CM's are usually very careful to keep all strollers and parked things where they belong, for safety reasons. It's not likely they'll let you leave it in a loading area and many attractions have different loading/unloading areas anyway.

I actually saw quite a few dads carrying their infants in a baby backpack. Most of them wore the versions that attach the kid to the front. I even saw them in line (the particular one I remember was a smaller backpack - on the front - and the baby was pretty small too). I'm pretty sure he wasn't riding, but just standing in line with his wife and older children.
