We will be starting our trek to the World in just 7 1/2 hours!!! :cool1: Second trip for DH and I. Staying at Port Orleans Riverside. Worried about the drive down, as we haven't driven to Florida before. Anyway, we're both VERY excited! YAY :yay::yay::yay:

Wishing you a gread drive! We are thinking of driving from Cleveland next year!! Let me know what you think!pixiedust:

I'll try to remember to come back to my thread and post the results! DH is not worried about it at all, but I am a worrier by nature so I won't be relieved until we pull into POR. My car is 11 years old, so I'm praying she has at least one long roadtrip left in her. She's very well taken care of and no issues at the moment, but a worrier worries about EVERYTHING! :rotfl2:

Drive safely and remember that the drive down is part of the vacation too! Enjoy the scenery and take plenty of pics of this great country of ours :)

Thanks everyone!! I'm about ready to jump out of my skin!!! The excitement is building :cheer2: 5 hours and 20 minutes until lift off!! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

:drive: safe travels. Remember to take rest stops when needed. I would be sure all fluids, tires etc are checked, and oil changed. Hope you have AAA. It's a great service to have.
I had to use it once in Florida for my car rental. Left lights on, oops. My car at home the lights automatically go off when you turn off engine. Not so with that rental car :rotfl:

Have a safe trip. We always drive it is part of the adventure. Remember. Cracker Barrels are your safest cleanest rest stops. They have good food a country store gift shop and clean bathrooms. They are always our best bet to stop. Have a great trip and be safe:)

Just coming back to report that the trip down and back were no problem at all. The driving directions I had printed out took us through the back roads to get into Disney, but we just jumped back on 429 and made it with no problems. My little car did great. No trouble with the car at all. We drove from Cincinnati -- took 75 all the way. It was an easy drive. We drove through the night (left home at 3:45 p.m.) and then on the way home, it was basically the same -- left Disney at 3:00 and drove all night. I drove most of the way home and let the DH try to get some sleep (he only ended up with maybe 30 minutes of sleep). All in all, it was a good ride down and back. I would probably drive again, but flying is SO much better, faster, easier. Thanks for all the pixie dust!!
