A pin with a turkey leg...it doesn't get any better than that folks. I swear, each time I go through liberty square and frontierland I get so disgusted with those things. There is nothing worse to me than sweltering in the Fl heat and smelling some hot carcass on a stick somebody next to you is chewing on. If that isn't bad enough, on my last visit I actually slipped and fell on one like you would a banana peel.
All I want to know is where is my dole whip pin already???
By all means, laugh all you want. My friend thought it was hysterical because each time I go to MK I complain about those things. It was kind of like my turkey leg karma for bad mouthing them so many times.
I love to eat WDW turkey legs. Absolutely! But, I'm not too sure about having them on a pin! Maybe this is one of those times when it's good that the pin is so small you can't see them! My computer at work won't display the pics everyone has posted, so I've been spared the trauma of actually seeing it, so I cannot say for certain. But, the picture that comes into my head is not all that attractive, even for a turkey leg-loving girl like me!
Oh man I love the Turkey Legs! Love them love them love them! They are so tasty and I think the pin is neat! I would have liked to see a Dole Whip one though..
FYI, you know why the turkey legs are so tastey? They inject them with salt water, and American's love salt!! I heard this from a disney Cast Member...so it may even be true. Gross! But they are so good anyway!

Well, they don't actually inject them with saltwater per se, but they do brine them for about 24hrs and inject flavor. Brine IS made primarily out of salt, it's main purpose being to tenderize the meat. We brined our whole turkey one thanksgiving and let me tell you, it was heavenly!
According to one of those "behind the scenes" things on the Food Network (or maybe it was the Travel Channel), they inject them with a flavored solution. It includes salt and other spices. They let them sit with this fluid in them, refrigerated of course, for a while before cooking them.
