I was looking forward to hearing about the earnings call today, @jcb didn't do his usual live posting of the call, which I thoroughly enjoy (I'm an accountant, what can I say?)

It's definitely been going around where we're at... almost the coldest May on record. A bunch of rain, too.

We're having our warmest on record I think.
The evenings are getting cooler this week but still 20*C+ most days this week. Not good for a fashion retailer who has knitwear out when it's so warm down here

I'm so sorry. I got tied up last week. (That's not true, I had a deposition but it finished before 5 pm. I was just too tired afterwards). Also, when you go to Disney's investor relations page and see a #ThanksShanghai photo used as the banner, it tends to dull my enthusiasm for live posting financial news.

Between them, Iger and McCarthy (Not surprisingly, Staggs did not participate) mentioned #ThanksShanghai 6 times. Iger said he had been, and said he was excited about it's grand opening three different times (each time using a different adverb before "excited"). As for domestic operations:

"Attendance at our domestic parks was comparable to the second quarter last year, and per capita spending was up 8% on higher admissions, food and beverage, and merchandise spending. Per room spending at our domestic hotels was up 5% and occupancy was down 1 percentage point to 88%."

These numbers aren't bad but they show why Disney is trying to awaken the summer.
