Today (Sunday, 12/20) Only Target GC's 10% off

'Morning everyone. I just looked at this week's Target ad and saw that today only Target GC's are 10% off. This is ONLY for Target store GC's. The discounted GC's are valid starting tomorrow. The ad did NOT say anything about how to use the discounted GC such as whether tomorrow, any of us would be able to use it toward a Disney GC. I will go to a Target today and post back later. I am hoping this works just as it did on Black Friday in 2014 when Target had the same offer. I wanted to give all of you a heads up on this deal. Merry (almost) Christmas and God Bless.

Yes! Not sure about the carts for snacks, but it can be used everywhere else for sure!

Thank you! I didn't get the 5% redcard either. I'll take the 10% though. I bought it, my mom, my sister in law, and my sister. So at least I'll save $120. plus I used ebates for an additional 2%.

While it's true that you don't get the 5% redcard discount when purchasing the Target gc's, the way people have been working it is that they buy the Target gift cards and get the 10% discount, then turn around and use those at Target online to purchase Disney gc's for the 5% redcard discount. The Target system has allowed you to get the 5% redcard discount when the Disney gcs are ordered online as long as you have your redcard set as the default payment method. You don't have to actually use the redcard to pay--you can change to a cc at the end of the transaction. Note that this does NOT work in the store.

There are other strategies for getting the most bang for the buck, but I personally don't do most of it. I've had issues with purchasing Disney cards online through Target and it isn't worth the small savings for the amount I order. It boggles my mind that some people buy $5000 worth of gift cards to pay for a trip but I could see why someone would want to go through the hassle to save 10-15% on that amount.

For future reference - typically you have to add a physical item to the cart in addition to gift cards to get ebates on the full order. An item that will be shipped to you, but not one that is on the list of excluded items on the ebates site. I got a lovely Christmas pillow on clearance in addition to the killer gift card deal! My ebates posted right away.

Anywhere that is set up to take debit or credit will take the Disney GC's......we love using them in the parks for buying food and souvenirs.

Great! Took advantage of the Target offer. Now I have to make it to Target before our trip next week.

I am so glad some of you did get the discounted cards. I apologize for not posting again yesterday. I did go to Target and think the cashier was misinformed because she told me I could not sue the Target GC to buy a Disney GC. That might though be true now in store. I know in the past it has worked online, plus you do get the Red Card discount. Disney GC's are a wonderful way (for me anyway) to be more budgeted in the park and plan ahead of time. I also appreciate so much being able to combine cards (bought from Target) onto one card so no more needing to keep track of multiple Disney GC's with different balances. As an FYI to anyone who didn't know this here is a link to the GC combining site. I know it may not work with mixed and match cards (like if you buy a Disney GC at Target and then one at a Disney store) It does work definitely with all Target bought cards. Bought my $300 last night and added a little something else to my cart, for the 10% off and the 2% ebates. Today I bought my $300 in Disney gift cards, and added another little something to get my 2% ebates again. Seems to have all worked out well!

Read a tip from another poster, and it worked great! I added a small item to my target gc order and got ebates on the whole order after I added a .25 cent Wooden Ruler! Worked great!

There is a Budget board forum here on the Dis and it has a whole thread devoted to Disney gift card deals. Found the above mentioned info, and much other useful info, in regards to saving on Disney gc's in the Budget Board forum. Definitely saved a nice bit of money utilizing some of the info and tips!
