Today is the last day of BTTF's operation.

I know. :( My work schedule makes it mathmatecially impossible for me to have been there.

And what gives on closing it on a Fri? Sat would've been better, especially for me!

of all the people that love bttf, i know you are the #1 dude for that ride.
that really bites.

maybe, somehow, mummy dust sprinklings will have one surprise last day for it tomorrow.

we missed it by one day, we're going to mardi gras tomorrow. it deserved a better send-off than a postcard in the mail.

Did anyone hear anything about the final day. Were they doing anything special?

According to IOAcentral, the ride closed with a 75 minute wait and the staff was making queue announcements. No big gala event, though.

<~~~Hasn't checked IOAC for new updates yet.

I too am saddened that this ride is gone....I thought my bf would have loved it on our upcoming trip. I wasn't able to ride it though without taking a LARGE dose of gravol before going on, but it was pretty cool. Yeah, outdated compared to newer attractions at the park. I look forward to hearing about what attraction they are planning on replacing it with.

Im so bummed out. Ill be at Universal in April and the ride I remember most will be closed. The first and only time I rode this I was 17. This was a day i decided to take most of my money with me, After riding the ride I noticed my wallet was missing. I ran back in the exit and luckily one of the ride operators had found it. So i will always remember this ride.

Honestly, there's pretty much no chance. I'll be suprised if the ride is announced by then.

IMO, it's just plain bad business practice to close a ride w/o announcing it's heir apparent:confused3.

A new ride @ any park certainly hypes tix sales-especially to those who wouldn't visit the park in the first place or were on the fence as to returning; would think closing one of the biggies will result in lower park attendence overall.

Only positive strategy/benefit I can think of by keeping an announcement on the QT, is that they don't want visitors to put off their annual visit to the park this summer; if it will be up and running later this year.

did you read this?

received it last night in my email.

Back to the Future, as we all know, closed on March 30. It seems that it
won't be on USF's high priority to replace just yet. Seems they are still trying
to confuse everyone over the whole "Simpsons" thing. Battlestar Galactica is
now a definite no-no so all it leaves is the Simpsons rumor or the new "Back
to the Future." Time will tell. But, high on the priority list is a new ride
next door at IOA. As mentioned many months ago, track is already being laid
for a new coaster where the Robotic Dinosaur interaction area used to be. It
could be that this ride, if confirmed, may be open later this year, or next
spring at the latest. This would be a much needed addition to IOA as no new
ride (With the exception of the Seuss Trolley) has been installed in many years.
USF, of course, had Revenge of the Mummy installed just 3 years ago.

I was just there 2 weeks ago and was suprised it was open I actually thought they had already closed it. I guess I should have riden it then. Why would they close this ride and leave open such a lame ride as ET, ET needs some definate help in the update department. Just my 2 cents

where's that? :confused3

I love BTTF and will always miss it. Such a legendary ride, I wish they had updated it rather than got rid of it. Sad day... One thing I alwyas loved was the video at the start before the actual ride of the two crash test dummies when the rules are being called out. Anyone remember?

I guess we're the only ones not sad to see it gone. :confused3

We had a horrible experience on it a few years back and would never ride it again. Oh well, just personal taste I guess...

Oh no, you are not the only one by a long shot. I haven't ridden it in at least five years. It makes me very sick. I broke down and rode the one in Hollywood three years ago and it made me just as sick.

Even the kids wouldn't ride it anymore and they'll ride anything.

My kids loved that video. They knew every line to it.
