Thankyou , small update this morning. I went into the school where I want Cara to go this morning and pleaded that we don't want Cara to lose the place there. The admissions lady said they have not had any notice to remove Cara from the list or been notified of anyone taking the place. She is also going to send an email to admissions to back up that we want Cara to keep the place there. So a little more hope.

Hopefully your chosen school will be able to stop the process before it gets finalised. Please let us know how you get on today. I really feel for you. I would be beyond upset if it was me in your shoes.

That does sound hopeful, Claire. In our area, if you take second or third choice after not getting your first but remain on the first's waiting list and a place there is subsequently offered to you, you don't automatically lose your place at the school you've accepted, they wait for you to accept or decline the offer of the place at the first choice school before they offer the one you've already accepted to anyone else. Maybe this is how your area works in practice after all, even though they've said otherwise.

Well I am very pleased to report that Cara is keeping her school place! The secretary that I saw this morning has phoned me to say that she got an email back to say that under the circumstances it would be detrimental to Cara to make her go elsewhere. Needless to say I'm overjoyed and so is Cara, plus the new friends she has made. They are whooping and cheering with her now lol. I am so relieved! Now I just want to get on and enjoy my weekend and the DIS meet on Sunday.

Needless to say I'm overjoyed and so is Cara, plus the new friends she has made. They are whooping and cheering with her now lol. I am so relieved!
