Today, I teared up in the Disney store

I am such a Disney fool. Our Disney store was recently remodeled. The stores now has a very Magic Kingdom feel to it, and has a large video area where kids can choose clips to play. DD chose A dream is a Wish your heart makes from the new Cinderella movie. That song chokes me up every time I hear it. It was so out embarrassing trying to to cry in the middle of the store!

I don't know why, but every time I hear that song , I get a rush of nostalgia and I think of all our happy Disney memories and I get emotional.

Anyone else? or am I the only freak?

No, you're not a freak. Music can be a very powerful thing, even without memories associated with it. With the memories added, well... cry away. lol

You are not a freak at all. I actually made a thread in another section of The Dis asking if there were any Disney songs that make you tear up. One of the ones that does it for me is Wishes mostly because it was my Aunts favorite show in WDW and she just recently passed away. It always brings back memories watching Wishes when my family was on vacation with her family.

The Disney store nearest me is more than an hour away--that alone is enough to make me tear up : )

I love making the trek every once in a while for a taste of the magic though. My husband says I'll buy anything with a Disney logo on it and he's not wrong.

The disney store near me is unfortunately rather disappointing. It's small and extremely cluttered with mostly toys and kids toys and basically nothing park related or for adults. I've been to amazing ones before, but not this one.

Our Disney Store was redone before Xmas last year. DD4 walked in to the area where they play the videos, sat down and said "I'm singing this" to Let it Go... at the top of her lungs. Made me smile and tear up at the same time. Love the magic.

Try working in one!! Every day that I was a Disney Store CM there was something or someone that touched my heart in a way that brought tears, so I feel ya!! Never went to work without waterproof mascara on.

I live 10 mins from a DS outlet. It's pretty big but and does carry Disney Parks stuff (on clearance!!) but it is nothing like you described. But, my daughters go in there a few times a month just to get our "fix". Last year a regular DS opened at the "fancy" mall in the area and it's like walking into an enchanted forest - took my breath away! But anyway - I am a huge Disney sap and it takes nothing to make me cry at anything Disney related. So, you are definitely not alone!
