today I got called

as an aside, our corporation hired Disney to come in and raise productivity and ream spirit. It was epic fail. All the higher ups dressed as characters. I had high expectations thinking it was DISNEY, but it was the usual rah, rah, be a team player. Must've cost a fortune.
haha we had that too, several years ago at one of my places of employment. I was told I was not a team player because I dared to point out differences between disney and healthcare :rotfl2: ...and the fact I am a former Cast Member....well, totally dismissed...

And I recently learned that someone with whom I work on occaission is on the MOMS panel for Disney!! I am covering at that facility in a couple weeks and you had better believe we will be talking Disney!!

I'm secretly the disney lady. No one knows how much I know or plan. DH recognizes that I plan an awesome disney trip (he isn't a fan) and compliments how great I did...he is totally clueless.

ADD ME to that list. :rotfl2: I have been 25+ times. In 2012... we went twice in Jan. then in March over spring break, May and a mother youngest son trip in July!!!Our dd did the Disney College Program that year!!

I AM FINE BEING CALLED CRAZY!!! pixiedust:

This sounds a lot like me. Over the. Years he and my kids have come to get a better picture of how crazy I am about Disney but still doesn't trap the full extent. Of course this has taken years we have been married 27 years!

DH and I have come to the realization...some get it and some never will! Fortunately, we both get it!! Our two (both adult) sons also get it....although not to the extent we do...and our daughter(also adult) never did when she was younger ...although based on current conversations w/ her I think she may be becoming a convert in her 30's. Our 12 year old DGS will be visiting WDW in a few weeks...with us, of course...for the 9th time since he's 18 months old and has been to DL once. We now have have three 8 month old granddaughters (twins and a single...born a week apart) and Grandma has some princesses now! Since our daughter wasn't fond of visiting WDW....she really didn't like the Princess stuff. Seriously, though.....when our kids were younger we visited WDW twice during their childhood....we didn't buy DVC until our oldest was 21 and youngest was 12...and I would say the youngest is probably the closest to us in "getting it". However, amongst our extended family and friends I can't begin to tell you how many times I've heard "you're going to Disney again?" I've reached a point where I just shrug it off and say "Yep...happiest place on Earth". Sometimes I will reply "Oh... are you going to the same beach you've gone to for the past 20 years? You must really like it." Just for the record.....we have 3 trips this year....we were there in January, going again with DGS in a few weeks (I dislike summer trips, but, can't go anymore during the school year with gs) and DH and I have a trip planned for Oct. during F & W. We usually get 3 to 5 trips during a two year timeframe (those DVC AP's work great for this!) And...now I'm off to check out prices on DVC resales......starting to plan for those 6/7 week retirement trips living in our DVC!!!

People in healthcare tend to be cynical about all these groups coming in to change things for the better. So, I probably would have been the same way. With the money they spend on consultants and these programs, they could hire us a couple of new staff and that would help more.;)

They love to throw around "not a team player" too. That's management code for "you see through our nonsense and that's not cool". :rotfl2:

I'm guilty too! Luv it don't give a flip:) co-worker asked me to help her plan, she was really cute about it she started asking small questions like what time of year do you like best, why? After a week of these kind of questions, I asked her when she was going and if she wanted help.

It was lots of fun, she had great time, her daughter loved it and hubby even said he would sell his other kidney in 5 yrs to go again. Lol. She is trying to talk him into every 3 years. Think I have helped to create a monster.

My SIL & Bro were planning a trip to Orlando in June. Of course, my mind immediately goes to WDW. When I asked her if they were going there, she said 'Our girls are really not into princesses". Um yeah, neither is my DS22 or DH but they love it. They planned to go to SeaWorld until her DD8 came home & her friend's mother told them they should go to WGW. :rolleyes1 So they went to MK and ALL loved it! Even my brother!!! I figured he would hate it. But it was all I could do not to say "told you so!"

People at work always ask me when they're planning a trip and even tell others to ask me if they have questions. I've even done a sheet I email to people with general tips & tricks. The #1 suggestion is to come to DISboards!

"the crazy Disney lady" at work. I was talking to another nurse who is going in Sept. She's not excited at all. I just can't understand that. She's staying at the Dolphin I think, has the expensive dining plan, still has a little guy who has never been so that will be fun. I don't think I talk about Disney that much at work. I don't know whether to be insulted or complimented! They think I go too much. This will be our 4th or 5th time in 8 yrs. For now, it's what we like. If any of my co-workers knew how much I planned for our trip, I'd definitely be the Crazy Disney Lady, lol

Hi fellow crazy Disney lady nurse:wave2: I am a fellow crazy Disney lady nurse. Labor and delivery:wizard: I had a patient just yesterday who had a Mickey Mouse visa card sitting at her bedside table. My eyes lit up and I casually mentioned that I liked it. She responded "yeah I'm not really into Disney I just didn't want a boring looking card" I was so crushed !

At home I put on Pandora to the Disney song station. You know, for the kids:laughing: just the other day dd6 said "mom can we just listen to regular musictoday?"

lol at your kids.

It would be a good distraction to talk about Disney during labor. It doesn't work so well for patients on my end of things (hospice), lol.

I'm definitely the crazy Disney lady, too. I've been three times with my family this year and once solo. We own DVC so I feel like Disney is vacation home, lol. I always feel happy when I pass the gates. i guess the outside world just melts away.

Ha! Me too, girl! (People at work almost certainly see me as the crazy Disney lady and I'm also a lawyer.)

It's to the point where people think we go all the time when, actually, we only just went last month and it had been 5 years since we'd been there. I think I just EXUDE Disney at all times.

My family DEFINITELY sees me as the Crazy Disney Lady because...you know...they know me pretty well and see me doing things like Disneybounding and purchasing Disney blu ray disks when I'm pretty much the only one watching them.

My dream? To plan a trip with some of you and go on my own someday!

We had a "disney guy" at work, he had the maps of the parks all up around his desk. He was/is a very cool guy. I had not gone in years I would sometimes ask him question he always ranted about how it was cheaper to stay off property you get bigger rooms etc and he knew hotels that had shuttles to the parks etc. I would always listen figuring he knew more then I did! I still always stay on property though, hah!

Now, that same friend is a MUCH crazier Disney lady than me-- the girl has spreadsheets for her next WDW trip for goodness sake!!! I've never had spreadsheets.
LOL! The first step in planning my WDW vacation was to create a cost estimate spreadsheet, even though it's my first time going there. I have multiple tabs for different cost categories, with options for the number of days, season (high-low), schedule planner with crowd levels, lodging cost comparisons for different options (hotels vs DVC rentals) and charts. :guilty: Yep, I have made Excel charts for my very first Disney vacation even before I booked it. And I am not even the crazy Disney lady! (I am a bit of nerd, though):blush:

THIS!!:thumbsup2 Yep-this last year they hired a team to custom write a program to track readmissions and reasons. The rest of us were "duh- if you had bothered to ask the staff, especially case managers and social workers could have saved several million bucks and raised PAY so people with experience come to work here and stay(oh-and thus also saving money on recruiting, hiring, training)!"

Health care would not need to be so expensive if some common sense were applied :rotfl2:

And this is why I am going to my happy vacation planning place...:)

That was really nice thing you did! See-your Disney obsession is being put to good use and helping others:) Planning can be fun too:thumbsup2
