Finally gone ahead and booked my holiday for 2011.

Went with a week at OKW (my daughters choice - she is 10 whilst there and is her treat - she complained she is bored with the Hard Rock - the word is spoilt - when I was 10 it was a week in a caravan in Skegness!!)

The second week is at the Hard Rock, my daughter compromised - otherwise known as its a week at both or two weeks at HRH !

Can't wait. I think a week of 6 month in advance ADR's I can live with.

The lady at Disney asked me hell of a lot about Daniel's condition though, is this a regular thing that is asked?

Glad you are all sorted - what month did you go for?

I've only ever mentioned DD's physical disability re a room request - I don't want to be on an upper floor with no lift. Not sure what is usual.

October 2011. Normally go in September, but Daniel starts school next year in September and don't want him there a fortnight, then taking him out for a fortnight.

You probably got a really good CM on the phone. They will note all the special requirements on your reservation so the more information you give, the better they should be able to help you.

So glad you finally booked. Now you can do start your countdown! :yay:

Happy planning Kevin, glad you found a compromise.
Just stayed at RPR for 3 nights, staying at a Universal hotel just does't do it for us like it does for you. Doubt we will stay there again(unless I find a bargain), best thing was early entry for HP. Not saying we didn't enjoy staying there but got no more enjoyment than staying at Country Inn & suites on our 1st night.
Front of line was OK but can live without it, we do a lot of rides single rider anyway, I guess its also because we have been AP holders for about 6-7 years and don't mind missing things if busy.
Now half way thru our 21 nights at OKW and loving it with free DDP, not everyone likes OKW but we do.

We had a fab time doing a split stay on our last trip and will spend more time at the universal hotel hopefully next time.

Can I ask who booked through as I am struggling to get rates for HRH for next Aug?

Love Hard Rock because I am a huge music fan, over 250 gigs and counting. Any hotel playing Jimi Hendrix around the pool all day long is fine by me.

I remember laying by the pool one afternoon and they played some of the greatest rock tracks ever one after the other. I laid there all afternoon, into the evening and fell in love with the place.

Why do some people not like OKW?

Snap! It was almost a downer to move from HRH to Disney, would like to do HRH last next time.

That's the reason it is Disney then to HRH. A lot of people here like looking at hidden Mickeys, I like looking at music lyrics that are hidden every where.

I love coming in late and finding the turn down service has put on WHTQ or WMMO on the radio.

We love HRH as well Kevin. Could not imagine a trip to Orlando without a 2 night stay here :goodvibes

You'll not get a direct booking yet. We are good friends with a manager there who sorted me a room and booking reference, but no rate as of yet. She has upgraded us to a kids suite the last two times.

Hi:goodvibes

We stayed at the HRH for the first time this July and loved it so much we have already booked again for sept 2011!!!:cool1:

Please tell me you didn't book through Complete Orlando or a travel agent? Their prices are ridiculous.

For example for 7 nights in a garden view room on the week we will be there, CO are charging £1338, which is madness.

Hey Kevin.

We haven't spoken in a long time - read your 'Magic' review..... not sure about that!

Guess some people just don't get Hard Rock.
We are over in Orlando right now, stayed 3 nights at HR Chicago on the way and it was memorable. HR Orlando is one of our favourites too - we have had River era Boss in our room!

Glad you have a trip to look forward to.

Regards Barry.

Nice one Kev. We're doing our first HRH stay in 6 weeks, and I am now looking forward to it even more after your review :thumbsup2

Sounds like a great trip Kevin. As you know, I didn't fall in love with HRH like you did. I prefer staying at WDW but I'm looking forward to staying at RPR for a night in September. :)
