I see your point. I don't know exactly what tevagirl does for a living, but I work in healthcare & it is hard work & it is stressful. If you can't find humor in your day it's extremely difficult, and I don't think they're laughing at her.

I think they DO thank her graciously...they throw them out after she leaves. Being nice doesn't mean you have to eat poopie cookies, I don't think.

We work in a radiation oncology unit. Our patients come in every day for 5,6,7 weeks. We get to know them and them us. A lot of our patients can be and are cured. Some aren't. That can be very difficult.

We do find humor in certain situations, Mrs Brown being one of them. If you can't find humor in these situations I don't believe you could last very long in the health care field.

My mom was an RN for 44 years, and she NEVER found humor in anything. Her job turned her just more and more bitter and depressed. Most of the nurses I've known had a morbid sense of humor, but I know it kept them sane.

I worked in a nursing home when I was in college & the daughter of this nice little old man used to bring in cakes she would bake us. The cakes would be in old, dirty Tupperware containers & would be covered in cat hair. We would thank her, take a piece of cake back to the desk, and throw it out. Who would not find it a little entertaining?
