Well it's 8:14 and I am finished. While Leslie enjoyes a weekend with friends I waited in line for her.
I got to TDS in Trumbull at around 5:30. The line was already about 25 strong. The first person in line had gotten there at 4:30.
when they opened the door at 7 the line suddenly became longer. All the family members who had been waiting in cars ran in. Since this was my first time waiting in line I didn't speak up, but no one else questioned. I guess this happens there every week and everyone is use to it.
They were limiting the CT pin to one per person. I could only get one, so I am hoping Cynthia can get one for Leslie. I had to be in work at 8 so I couldn't get back in line.
They were out of the Cinderella's coach and Babes in Toyland by the time I got to the front of the store.
Lots of specials though for those who need to do last minute shopping.
I forfeited my Disney Club discount so I could get the Michael Crawford CD for free. And all because I spent over $50 for pins. Peggie

This morning had a few minor surprises in store. (No pun intended, but it is true. ;) )
The store I usually go to, the store manager was not going to limit the state pin purchases. (Within reason, as long as everyone bought what they wanted.) The other store was going to limit their state pin pp and not allow guests back in line to buy more.
Well, they both did a flip.
The first store limited. So we bought the extras we wanted at the other store. They had to be rung up two at a time -- but what the hey.
We called the South Dakota store, rather than make a road trip, They are shipping! (2 pp limit) But from what another guest said, there appears to be no pin collectors at the SD store.

There were two of the usuals on line ahead of me and a couple who live in CA (originally from NY) who were buying state pins for their CM daughter in Omaha,Nebraska (Hi Jill) and a gal who was buying state pins for her dad in AZ.

My husband and 2 daughters were with me. They got Christmas money yesterday so they picked out gifts to put under the tree and with our purchases we got the Monopoly game free.

So to all the people I have trades for state pins, I have them. I would love NM & Ontario.
Anyone want a CA?

karinmac -- I know CM Jill. She is VERY nice! My fav CM at West Roads! I spoke with her just this morning!

Peggie, so glad you reported about your morning pin adventure ... you know we anxiously await word from CT every week :)!

Speaking of CT ... if Dom reads this ... did you get a Nightmare pin? I have an extra ... thought of you & know you don't usually get to a TDS until after 11 a.m. on Saturday

The DS that I go to in Braintree MA had all the pins today and would only allow us to get 1 state pin but with no limit as to how many times we could go through the lines. I got enough for the pins I would need! I can't get over the way I spent my b-day talking pins etc at the DS starting at 6:30 for a 8 am opening!

My friend had to go on a mission today for me and herself!, I sent herto the Buckland hills store in CT just around the corner from her for my CT pin which she got! She got there forbefore 9 and the store was already opened she got everything she wanted. She told me they didn't get 1 pin but I forget which one.

My store opened at 7am today!!! UGH!!! I was about 13th in line and got all that I wanted. Made a few extra trips later during lunch and after work to pick up some extra state pins. should have paid some of the kids from the club to come with me and get some others. I made several people in line this morning happy with trades I made with the great people on this board. They were so happy they offered to trade me their extra state pin.

Karin, thank you VERY MUCH for thinking of me! My store still had them as of 3:00 this afternoon so I'm all set.

This was the first time that our regular store limited you to two copies of pins number 100. Luckily I had my middle child with me and she was able to pick up an additional two Texas pins. I love Cinderella and the House of Mouse pins.

Dom,
I know I have helped you in the past and in the future but it was JudithM who offered you pins today.

Karin :D

OOOPPPS!!! Sorry Judith!!! Having been up since 5a.m. (serious UGH! here) my brain is not fully functional!! Can't wait to see what else I goofed up. Hope I didn't trade away all my Villain pins!!  I think I'm alert enough not to do something THAT dumb!

Yeah -- those 5:00 Saturday mornings are the pits! But they are over!!!!:bounce: Woo Who!!
This is how well we are getting to know each other --
JudithM got up an hour later than me today (her time) but she was up later than I was last night. But she had a nap today and I didn't!
Now it's bad when we know each other's sleeping habits due to pin buying! ;) :jester:

in as high of demand? We went to the DS tonight and they had all of the pins...100 down to what ever came out today plus tons of Florida pins....

Now, should I have picked some up? I haven't been doing this series....is the FL pin sold only in FL?

Holycow

Our store limited it to 2pp on any pin. Only "problem" was that at our store there were 2 people buying as many as they could! Once everyone was through the line, they kept buying until all were gone. :-/ So, if there are any left, they aren't at my store.

Arrived at the Falls store in Miami at 5:30am and was fifth in line. This is a small store with only one box of each pin normally. Plenty more of the state pin. Store open at 10 and we were able to get 2 sets and then go through again several times to get more state pins 2 at a time. True to her word the manager did not put out the shorted pins from last week until today so we all were able to get them. Left and headed for Dade County Auditorium for the Miami Christmas Pageant and did 3 shows. Just got home and am winding down before going to bed.

Both the Burlington, MA and Salem, NH stores were shorted on the Babes in Toyland pin. I was only in line to get state pins, but there were some frustrated people just ahead of me.

Dom, Karin, Barb ... I knew Dom menat me when he said Karin .. no problem, jsut glad Dom got his NSC pin ... I didn't end up getting in that nap ... my pin friends needed help getting their Xmas tree ... so as soon as I put my head down, the phone rang :) ... what we don't do for our friends ... besdies it was his birthday & we even sang "Happy Birthday" at the Disney Store yesterday a.m.!

We arrived at Roosevelt Field store at 6:35 for an 8AM opening, with a non-Disney friend in tow(a really good friend to get up at such an ungodly hour to stand in line for something they have no interest in!) Well the doors to the mall were locked but we could see about 25 or 30 people inside on line. It turns out when the 5AM security shift came on duty, they locked all the doors but let the people already inside stay.We waited outside in the freezing cold with some of the other regulars until they opened at 6:50. We ended up about 40th in line & did some great trading. Once inside, the Cinderella Coach pin ran out fairly soon. The last Babes in Toyland went to the lady right in front of me. To speed things up, a cast member was coming down the line, asking everyone what they wanted, going back to the counter & getting them& handing them to you. We wanted 1 set each this week(the extra set for a regular visiting WDW this weekend) plus 2 NY pins each. The cast member accidentally gave us 2 extra NY pins. I didn't correct the mistake as another cast member said they had gotten in at least 15 boxes of the state pin, so I knew there would be more than enough for the 60-65 people in line. Took an hour to check out. We had breakfast in the mall. I then called the Hicksville Disney Store(about a 15-20 minute drive) & found they had the coach & Babes in Toyland pins left. Got there, picked up 2 of each & found they sold out of state pins(they had only gotten 73 in). The 3 of us jumped back in the car, sped back to Roosevelt Field & picked up 6 more state pins. The 2 ladies shopped until 3PM while I, being a typical male, slept in the car.
Later on this afternoon, we'll be driving our friend back home to Westchester County & will stop at the 3 Disney Stores there, if they have any state pins left.
Phew, I'm glad this is over for now.

Our Holyoke Mall store manager came out before they opened and told all of us in line that they only had received 30 sets of 2 each state pins for MA. We all got them - it's all the other stuff hubby and i came home with that got us the free Mickey toaster which plays the Mickey Mouse Club march as the toast comes up!! We'll miss these Sat mornings. BTW, did any of you hear about a possible pin coming out at TDS this coming Sat morning?????? Word was going through our line that maybe............. and it may only be words!!!

lovingthemouse -- I have heard the rumor. But that is it. And I have only heard it mentioned on Dizpins. I posted asking about it here and no one is saying anything.
My pup won't let me sleep past 6:00 am anyway. I suppose I am STUPID enough to go to TDS at opening (again).
