Toaster

Only the DVC villas and (maybe) the suites at the All Star Music have toasters (not sure on that one), but of course you can bring your own. :) Just make sure to unplug it before you leave the room! :thumbsup2

Not trying to be Debbie Downer, but the idea of toasters in every hotel room makes me a little nervous. It seems like it would be a major fire hazzard. What is the offical Disney policy on this?

Well, since Disney has them in their villas and they supply refrigerators and microwaves to guest rooms, I don't think there's a problem.

I mean, a toaster isn't any more of a fire hazard than a curling iron.

At least in the villas you have a place for the toaster. You are not stuck trying to balance it on the sink, or putting it on the floor. I though about the curling irons too, but I thinking using something to cook with is different. I don't routinely stick bread in my curling iron that could get stuck and burn.

After all if you can bring in a toaster, what else can you bring? Crock pot? Toaster oven? George Forman grill? Where would the line be? That is why I am curious as to what the offical policy is. I would think they would want you to only use the cooking gear that they provide you with, but I could be wrong.

I was planning on staying in the family suite at the ASMu, there is kitchenette but no toaster. I wanted to have the bfest in the room.

Well, I wouldn't be putting a toaster on the floor or the sink ... I think I'd stick with the table. ;)

And I guess people will bring whatever they want until someone tells them they can't. :confused3 I certainly wouldn't be bringing a crock pot or toaster oven on vacation, but a toaster? I really don't see the problem.
