O.K. a few of you convinced to to buy one so now I have a few ?'s!!

I saw a Black and Decker on sale at Kohl's and was wondering if this is a good brand. Some of the other one's were about 100.00 and I'm not willing to spend that much right now!!

I wanted to know(dumb question) if when you make toast do you have to flip it over or does it toast both sides at the same time?(Actually Dh wants to know this-you don't mess with his toast!!LOL)

Any suggestions or comments?

I love my toaster oven! Best $25 I ever spent. Mine toasted both sides at the same time. It had a heating element on the top and the bottom.

I bought an inexpensive Black and Decker toaster oven and I hate it! Very cheaply made -little insulation so the top and sides get extremely hot. It burns lines across the toast, has wide temperature fluctuations in the oven mode and the oven door often doesn't shut tightly enough (have to keep pushing it in until it clicks - sometimes several tries.) I may have to go out and buy another one - just to quit using this headache. If it's something you are going to use regularly and keep for several years, I'd recommend spending a few bucks more and getting a decent one.

Kim, we use our toaster oven all the time. It does toast the bread on both sides at one time without turning it over. We also use the toaster oven for broiling or baking food items such as burgers, steak, fish or chicken breasts.

The last few toaster ovens we have had were the Krups brand. Since we don't have much counter space in our kitchen, I tried to choose a reliable brand that was also very streamlined in its design. However, if space is not an issue for you, I have heard that the Black and Decker brand of toaster ovens are also good.

I use the toaster oven so frequently that I would really be lost without it in our kitchen.

Hope this helps you out a little, Kim.

Marie :D

(We also heat up leftover pizza slices in it if we want the crust to turn out crispier than if it were heated in the microwave.)

I have a Farberware toaster oven. I couldn't live without my toaster oven!! Mine is a large one that I can fit a 9 inch pie plate into. I use it to cook everything. I very rarely use my regular oven. It did cost about $100 a few years ago but it was well worth it. I would think about what you want to use it for - just toast or do you really want to cook in it. I found that the cheaper ones just need to be replaced often and in the end you are going to pay just as much as if you would have bought a good one.

Thanks guys!!! I think I will try a less expensive model first just to see how we like it/how often we use it etc. If we like it we can always buy a better one later.

Lady M-nice to see you here!!! I got your PM-very nice of you but it truly wasn't necessary-we all know how much you appreciate our good thoughts-you need to rest and get better!! O.K.!!

We have a Black & Decker, it's about 5 years old. We've never had any problems with it, but I have read many complaints on them.

We are in the market for a new one (new house) but I'm having a hard time finding an under the counter mount in anything besides a Black & Decker.

Good luck! You'll love having a toaster oven!

We love ours!!::yes:: It gets used at least twice each day!! :sunny: Cooks bagels a lot better than the toaster do too! :D It's nice for reheating a slice of pizza or warming up a left over sandwich. I would never go back to a regular toaster again! :bounce:

weve only used ours once. Just never really needed it I guess. maybe we ought to dust it off and try again.

We use our toaster oven all the time, too. More than our regular oven, and probably almost as much as the microwave. It's just a cheapie little Black and Decker. It's an okay size for just the 2 of us, and it's lasted 5 or 6 years so far. The only problem we've had is that sometimes the door doesn't close all the way and it turns off without our knowing.
