I am thinking of bringing a toaster over to DW. My son takes a medication in the morning and he can not have it with Dairy or Bran/Fiberous type grains. It decreases the absorbtion of the medication. My son at home has glueten free waffles everyday (frozen box type) and morning star Farms veggies sausages for protien. I am wondering if anyone has every brought a toaster over to DW because I most certainly could heat up both of these things with a toaster over. He also eats eggs a lot in the morning which I know I can buy cooked (scrambled at the resort). I am racking my brain for what else my child could eat for breakfast besides fruit.

If you have brought one to DW before can you let me know how it worked and was it worth the hassel. I hear some resorts have microwaves availible on first come first serve basis too. But not sure I want to order the groceries from garen grocer and take the chance. I know the freeze area is small but the things I will order would be fine in the fridge too. We will be there for 7 days. Thanks!

All of the resorts have toasters and microwaves in their food courts. It might be easier to just use one of those rather than packing appliances since you'll already be packing a lot of special foods.

If your DS needs to keep to a gluten-free/dairy-free diet, you may want to contact Disney for a list of locations where you can get meals and snacks that meet his dietary needs.

I would not bring it. It is a fire hazard and will be removed from your room. I'm not sure of the tel no but there is a dept at WDW that deals with these types of issues. You may want to try the DISabilities board.

He does not have a wheat or gluten allergy. It is just the medication he takes in the morning he can not have dairy or grain with it. It is just my son and I traveling to disney and we like to have breakfast in the room while we are getting ready. Just trying to think of what he could eat. :confused3 They do have microwaves but it is a first come first serve basis.

I have heard that as long as you are in the room, you can use a toaster. They just don't want you leaving it plugged in or on while you are not there.

After all, look at all the swaps that include a TOASTER along with micro and fridge. These wouldn't be part of a swap if they weren't allowed.

Go ahead, I might bring one as well. Another Dis-er recommended it.

Even just a toaster would work. I will have to give it some thought. I do not mind packing one. We normally only check one suit case for the both of us. I could pack a 2nd one with other misc. stuff we need. We are on the dining plan but as I stated we like to save time by eating breakfast in the room. We are staying at CSR and it would be difficult for me to go get food for my son since it is only me. I suppose I could do room service as well but that would also become very expensive fast.
