toaster issues

So tonnight I touched the prongs on the plug of the toaster when it was done toasting and they were hot. Im deathly afraid of things catching fire (Thanks dad) so this worries me. Is this a sign I need a new toaster?
ETA: I looked up my toaster on the recalls site, the model I have was recalled. I went to the companies website and it tells me that my "series number' is not recalled. What should I do?

Well, FCM, if it were me in that position that toaster would already be at the landfull, and I'd be shopping for a new one. I'm pretty uptight about things going up in flames, as well

I'd probably get a new toaster. The worry about what might happen, and the hassle of dealing with the recall is a waste of your time.

Its a gonner. Im planning on cutting its cord off before I toss it. So any advice on a good cheap four slice toaster (its a must!). I eat a whole lota toast.

we just bought a new toaster... we got a GE four slice one at walmart that works great.

We had originally bought an Oster one, but it burned even on the lowest setting and was burning hot to the touch all over! It went back.
