Just wondering if it would be ok to bring a toast to our room at POFQ next month? It would be nice to have to make bagels, toast, waffles, ect..for breakfast. Thanks

The standard answer is "no" because the rooms are not wired for appliances and cooking smells can bother other guests. That being said, I brought a toaster with me for a couple of trips. I just made sure it was unplugged when I left for the day. If you don't want to bother with a toaster there should be one in the food court that you can use.

Thanks..I didn't know if using the microwaves and toasters in the food court for food not bought there would be frowned upon :confused3

No. If you must have a toaster in your room, then book a family suite or DVC villa. In other resort rooms, cooking appliances are considered a possible fire hazard. Toasters are provided for guest's use in the food court, even if you bring your own food.

No, not frowned upon. The resort gift shops sell bread and other food items. There is no food court employee hanging around the large table with the toasters and microwaves. Nobody knows anybody else's story about why they're using the equipment or where their food came from. You can also have hot water from the dispenser at the beverage station, for your instant drinks or oatmeal. It's all very casual and anonymous.

I personally felt somewhat uncomfortable using the toaster with my food that was obviously not purchased at the food court. I eventually got over it since I did buy a mug for coffee.

The appliances are there for your use.

We always bring a toaster with us it saves a ton of time in the morning. Bagels, cream cheese, drinks and out the door... we always unplug it like at home. It never crossed our mind that it wasn't allowed. Even if we get the mugs, we still don't even go to the food court in the morning.

Definitely not frowned upon. Since toasters and microwaves are not provided in the rooms, those are there for any food use for the guests.

The official answer for having a toaster in the room is no because of potential hazards as some people could bring slightly "damaged" food preparation items and leave them plugged in all day. Plus, if a toaster is allowed, then the next person would ask about an electric skillet since they would only plug it in when they were cooking. And then someone would make liver and onions one night. So, you can see where that can go.
