Its been 7 years since our last trip to Disney and we stayed at POP. I remember the big cafeteria building where we had breakfast. There were all the drink machines and I am pretty sure microwaves and toasters and such.

This time we are staying at The Beach club resort. I am wondering if there is some sort of similar set up there? Also if there are toasters, are they only for purchases made on site? I'm trying to lower our food costs, so was planning to bring bagels and cream cheese. Nobody however will eat them if they are not toasted. So I am wondering if I can go somewhere at the resort for access, or not?

TIA

The quick service spot at BC is quite small, and I don't remember seeing a toaster there although there may be one (maybe a toaster oven or something).

Yes, there is a toaster. (At least there was during our last stay.) It was to the right of the food serving area.

I thought of that too but I didn't want to appear like a homeless dad using a toaster for non-purchased items so we opt-ed for muffins with peanut butter

Lol well for the amount of $$$ I'm spending for our trip I'm on the verge of fitting the title. Only reason we are even at a Deluxe resort is because we found a great deal that worked out cheaper than the moderate. We are a family of 5 or we would have been Value. Muffins are also on my list to bring along.

I gotta say, if I am staying at the Beach Club and purchase a bagel there, I am going to be a little irritated if a family of 5 is in front of me at the toaster line with their bag of bagels from home. How about bringing cereal or granola bars or muffins instead?

No worries, only the kids like bagels. Plus we all have learned manners, sharing and turn taking. I'm sure of all places Disney is where families that are large or small, deluxe or value budget can coexist happily. Also curious if we decide its too much hassle to bring the bagels and each purchase from the counter and toast, than is it okay?

It's not a problem if you bring your own bagels or get them at the resort. There is no difference between a large family toasting their goodies they brought from home or bought at the store. They are equal opportunity toasters. :thumbsup2

We bring several boxes of nutrigrain bars and granola bars and eat them while we walk to the monorail in the morning. While cost savings is a factor, our biggest goal is speed and ease. We'd never bring something from home that forced us into the QS restaurant.

Actually, no, they are inteded for the use of the people purchasing items needing toasting there. That is why they are located in the store where the items are sold.

Agreed! Same as when it is crowded in the parks and you are looking for a table in a quick serve restaurant when it i spacke dand see families eating their packed, picnic lunch at the tables meant for cusotmers of that restaurant - and usually subisdizing their lunch from the fixins bar and condiments again meant for the paying customers.

I fully agree. I feel that the food court/food store supplies and amenities are for people who are purchasing food there. In my opinion, if you bring food from home it should be items that you can eat/prepare in your room. We wanted to save on food this trip so we rented DVC (OKW) so we have food preparation amenities in our room.

Toaster "access" in the food courts are for everyone. (Lord, give me strength to bite my tongue ....)

You wouldn't walk into a McDonald's with a bag of bagels and expect to toast them, would you?

I don't think it's any different just because the restaurant is part of a resort.

I don't know how much faith everyone has in "Mom's Panel" on the official Disney website. There are numerous answers regarding various resorts that state the toasters are for use by all guests.

If I ask the barista at the drive thru to throw away my old cup, they say no. It is actually considered unsanitary. To me, bringing outside food and putting into a toaster or microwave is the same thing.
