September 27th 2007 (Day 15)
Up at 7am and did the last bits of packing, leaving our change for the maid (with a $5 bill aswell so she wouldn't get the wrong idea..!) and set off for the Contemporary for our Chef Mickeys ADR. We were seated quickly and Pluto came round almost immediately:
We enjoyed the food here and would like to try the dinner at some point in the future. Mickey Donald and Minnie all paid us a visit:
One thing we noticed compared to Crystal Palace was how much quicker you're in and out of Chef Mickey's, even though they were both similarly busy when we visited. Either way, a character meal was a really fun way to round off the trip and i'd definitely recommend it. We headed back to POFQ to pick up our cases (didn't really want them on display in the car while we had breakfast) and drove to the Downtown Disney check-in which was really quick and easy and none of our cases were overweight thankfully! We had a look round the 'memorabilia' type shops and shared our last CS credit at Wolfgang Puck's (four cheese pizza and a cookie) We also used up our last 2 snack credits in Goofy's Candy Cauldron on a couple of bags of candy. We would have preferred some fudge but the guy was adamant that we couldn't use snack credits on it even though I argued that we had in the parks, a case of an uninformed CM I think! I should note that the lovebugs were out in force today.. They'd got progressively worse since a little into our second week but before that we hadn't noticed any. They were a bit of a nuisance but I wouldn't say they'd make or break going in September again for us. I wandered down to the pin tent as I wanted the princess pin bag and was pleased to find it was half price. Also got my final pin 'fix' of the holiday and had a little look in World Of Disney before meeting back up with Steve and we both headed to Disney Quest.
It was then that I realised i'd packed my 14 day ticket in my case (so stupid!!) but luckily the CM gave me a temporary one as we'd noted down the code on it (be sure to do that with your tickets, makes things much easier if you lose one!) We spent a couple of hours in DQ doing a bunch of the arcade games and a few of the bigger ones like Pirates, Jungle Cruise and Aladdin (to be honest I found the arcade games the most fun and Steve was the same, we were like kids in a sweet shop playing all these arcade games for FREE!) I started to feel a bit dizzy and sick, it was a particularly hot day today and I don't think I drank enough, so we decided to set off for the airport early. There was very little traffic and we dropped the car off with no problems. We were both quite sad at this point.. I know we'll return one day but it's just always the way, i'm sure you all know how it is! We made our way through security, got a couple of coffees from Starbucks (last pumpkin spice latte, boohoo!) and spent the last of our cash on some perfumes/cologne (Steve took this opportunity to get gifts for his parents as he hadn't done so earlier!) We settled in some seats by the gate and I caught up with my diary and Steve played on his DS. Our flight was on time and pretty uneventful.. The Sturgeron meant I fell asleep for a few hours which Iwas grateful for and though the flight was quite turbulent we landed in Manchester right on schedule.
