To wash or not to wash?

I totally agree with what you're saying Lee and if we were limited to 1 bag each I would probably wash clothes whilst we were away. However as we always fly PE ( or we don't go ..... DH conditions NOT mine ) we get an allowance of 2 bags each so that particular problem is not an issue for us

doubt i will even unpack never mind do laundry i do always take a small travel wash tho to rinse swim wear and undies in the sink then just usually dry it outside or in bathroom

Our Friends washed everything before they came home from our trip in 2010 so I decided to follow suit and give it a try last year - also Virgins baggage allowance had shrunk to 1 bag pp!

We stayed at CSR in a room opposite a laundry. It was great to put a wash on and either stay at the pool or go check my emails for half an hour, then come back and put the dryer on and go out again. I used to just leave it in the dryer and go pick it up later on, never had any problems and I could wrap all my souvenirs up in nice clean clothes!

Best of all was having no washing to do when we got home

Defo wash , it is easy to pop a load on and keep on top of it all. We take the 2 in 1 liquitabs from home as detergent can work out more expensive in U.S, the washers are toploaders we found and the cycles are not that long, nice to freshen your clothes.

Another launderer here too.

I do it either at pool time, or more usually if we're having a chill out evening because we've got an early ADR or rope drop the next morning.

I don't mind popping back and forth from the room a couple of times. And at AKL the laundry was right near the CS food so we grabbed some dinner while we waited too.

I took those 2 in 1 tabs too,it does work out a lot cheaper .
The only annoying thing about washing in the hotel laundrette is, you've loaded up the machine and then find you don't have enough quarters

For me it's a must - even if I took enough clothes not to have to I can't stand the thought of dirty clothes - even at home with 2 young(ish) girls I wash every day

We had a laundry room in our Apt at SSR 2 years ago so just put the machines on as we left for the parks on a morning. Last year at the Beach Club there was never anyone else in the Laundry room so I would do a load every few days while we sat around the quiet pool

Staying at OKW this year but in a studio so glad to hear from Wayne the laundry facilities were easy to use!

I could not relax on the flight home if my suitcase was full of dirty clothes - I've seen too many suitcases come around the carosel with clothes hanging out!!!

Yep, I too do laundry while on holiday and I actually quite enjoy it.

Last year at CSR we were near the laundry room, so it really wasn't too far a walk. And our second load we just did on a pool day.

I used the front loaders, there were two in the laundry room-I don't trust the top loader machines.
I also brought my own detergent and we just bought a cheap box of dryer sheets at Walmart.

We're travelling with a 9 month old who insists on feeding himself so we will have to wash this year. I don't fancy opening the case to two weeks worth of ground in mush! DH keeps on top of our washing at home, I wonder if I can persuade him that he wants to do the washing on holiday?

DBF does our washing We don't bother ironing! I really hope we don't have to do washing while we're away, we don't have any children so should be easier but not sure if we have enough clothes for 2 weeks, it may be a good excuse to shop!

We don't iron either, seem like too much effort as we rarely wear anything other than work uniforms and jammies

We'll only be bringing one week worth of clothes and washing them half way through then again before we leave because I'm back in work the day after we get back and don't want to have to worry about washing.

Hang on, I just read this properly!! I doubt you'll have much luck persuading him to do the washing on holiday!!

We have plenty of clothes to last us two weeks and we'd even have a few spare outfits (I also suffer from the terrible illness of shoppingitis) it's more getting all our luggage in the car along with a baby, a pram and a suitcase full of Easter eggs and nappies.

Luke DH may as well do the washing there as he'll only have to do it when he gets home. You men never read stuff properly. My DH is terrible for it!

I would permanently wear pyjamas if I could! How sad! I certainly won't be worrying about washing, as long as I have work clothes I'll leave the mound of washing when we're back to DBF! I think doing the washing makes him feel useful seen as I do everything else lol
