To waitlist single or multiple?

I currently have a reservation 10/22-10/29, saturday to saturday, at BLT 1BR lake view (our home resort). I would really love to change this to GFV, 1 br standard. Currently the Sunday and Thursday nights are sold out. Right now I have the entire stay waitlisted.
I'm asking for advice: How likely is it that this whole week will come through? Given that I REALLY don't want to change resorts, is it better to try to break up the waitlists into two somehow? I suppose I could call tomorrow and try to book the first half at GFV and waitlist just the Sunday, and then repeat on Thursday. However, I'm happy staying at BLT and maybe it would be easier to just see if the whole thing comes through. Then I'm guaranteed to not have to move. What do you think?

The more days, the less of a chance for a WL match. Think about it, someone with your exact week would have to cancel for a match.

We learned that it's best to plan for the worse and hope for the best.

Do you have enough points to hold both, that's the best and safest way to do this. Then you could book what's available and wait list the 2 days you'd need.

You just have to know you are going into waitlisting the whole week knowing your chances are very slim.

I agree with Dean. I have had success getting reservations inside the 7 month window by booking what is available and then filling in the gaps with single night waitlists and stalking the member site. BUT I am lucky enough to have enough points to do this and still keep my original reservation in case I am unable to get a match.

It doesn't take double the points but does require almost double to do it easily. One could borrow then bank the then current UY points to do this. Obviously there is a downside but it might be worth it for some to guarantee a reservation but have the possibility of a given high end option.

I see. I don't have enough points to book a 245 point stay and then book a 268 point stay on top of it. I was thinking of doing something like booking a studio as a backup on the days I'm waitlisting, BUT I would need to be at the seven month window for each day I'm waitlisting. This is becoming clear to me now that I'm trying to do it, whereas it wasn't clear before. (I would need to book saturday night, then call the next day to book Sunday backup with waitlisting the room I want, then call back the following day to reserve the remaining available days, etc.). Too much work.
I'm thinking I'll just leave the whole week under waitlist. BLT has some advantages, especially for the Halloween party, so if we don't get GF we can try to stay there some other time.
Thanks for the assistance!
