to VBe, or not to VBe?

I really want to add 75-100 VB points. The question is: Should I do it now and ensure the lower price & Sept use year, or wait until I have stayed there in Sept and take a chance at loosing price/use year? I don't want to be overly impulsive, but I don't want to miss the boat either. I am tending to shy from buying a resale after reading other threads on trying to combine contracts. Also, there is certainly no gaurantee of getting Sept use year with a resale. What would you do? Thanx in advance.

What would I do? I'd go for it and get what I wanted so I'd have it to use for the next 35+ years.

Will buying the points now allow you to bank them and have them to use next year? If so that might figure into the equation. I doubt you'll regret your puchase if you go for it.

I vote go for it!! We did the exact same thing in early January. We bought (sight unseen) at VB (110 pts), for the following reasons...
1. We wanted to have 1 on-site(WDW) and 1 off-site DVC location.
2. We got MB's at $13 off........so paid $62 pt and same use yr as our OKW (Sept)
3. We wanted to have the 11 month window for VB in the winter months. We are both retiring in 5 yrs(will be 51 then) and plan on going to VB for the whole month of Jan every winter.
4. We know the dues are higher there ($4.17 pt) but for our 110 pts at VB...it comes to $110 more per yr than OKW dues....so it is not that much more

If you buy a resale the same use year as you own already, I don't think there is a difference at all. It's a great resort but if you've never been there, that's a gamble. If you intend to buy more points and it's simply a matter of where, the risk is pretty minimal, particularly if you own at WDW already.

We bought sight unseen also at VB. We love WDW and we go home to OKW once a year. However, we would also like a more relaxed vacation....park free, once a year. And, while we say sometimes that we are going to head to OKW and hardly go to the parks, it never seems to work that way! Anyway, we debated about buying into VB without actually checking it out but we did it anyway. I will let you know how it works for us. We will be arriving at VB in 1 week! I am pretty confident we made the right decision.

Do you have to buy a minimum of 50 points to get MB, or could you buy only 25?

Beth, minimum add-on is 25 pts. If you want to finance, it's 50 pts.

EDIT: Beth I just reread your question. I am not sure of minimum for MB's, but the price is going up with the rest on 6/2.
