To those that got the free dining PIN...

I would call nothing to lose, my Dmil gets pins all the time via snail mail and she has never been to WDW and has never even used a computer so I know she has not been on their site. I think she lives in a targeted area and that Disney must maybe use address lists at times?

They only use information that has been voluntarily provided. They do not purchase address lists or collect anything that someone hasn't given freely. That being said, my father gets pins all the time and he doesn't touch computers but he's called in before and I'm sure that's when they asked him for his info.

I was hoping for the FD pin so I didn't book. I called the morning it came out & no luck. Then after reading the boards about people getting different answers I decided to call back later that night & SURPRISE I had it. I do think its random, not sure how . After I booked I rec'd the email a few days later....We did have to move our trip up a week for the FD but for us its worth it

Disney must think people are dumb. I just received my first PIN in quite some time for "Free" dining, most dates thru 8-13-2011.

It's QS dining, even for a full priced package at a moderate! The "free" regular dining only applies to Deluxe Resorts & Villas.

This is only remotely close to a bargain if you're staying in Value with 2 or 3 kids, otherwise I'd take the room discount all day long.

I guess it's all hypothetical for me anyway, since we always go in the Fall during the regular Free dining promo in September/October.

Lower room rates and a better dining plan, now there's a no-brainer.

Got the Free Dining via snail mail today.

It is the one for most nights between 6/3 - 8/13/11. It is Quick Service Dining for Value and Moderates.

It is in my DH's name. In the past, they have been sent to me via my email address. I have been working hard to try and get this Pin!!

I spent the last week signing DH up for all the Disney Website with a new email address and saving a few vacation options under his account. Looks like it worked!! He also got an email offer but it was not a great deal.

Now I just have to convince him that we can afford a Disney Vacation!
