I will be taking my to younger boys 13 and 11 to WDW in Jan. 2005. They have been once before. Last year. My dh and oldest Ds went as well. We did not attend any parades, fireworks, or shows. Needless to say the little boys and I are going back. My poor husband does not get this.
Anyway last time we stayed off site. This time I want to stay on site. This will be a budget trip. Well kind of!
I have reservations for POP for $55 per night. Should I change to another resort? It would need to be one of the moderate for $85 per night. What would you all do?

First, enjoy your trip-I am also going for a repeat trip in January, sans husband, who doesn't quite feel the "magic" like myself and my kids.

As someone who has stayed at all price ranges, I think it depends on what you want. If your kids really love the Disney feel, you don't plan on spending much time at your resort, and they like Disney movies, etc, consider All Star Movies in the value category. If you think you can spend a bit more and want some other amenities, like sit-down restaurants, recreational activities like boats or bikes, or more dining options, consider a moderate with a good middle locale like the Caribean Beach Resort (which I am going to stay at) or the Port Orleans resorts. The deluxe resorts are more pricey, but if you want tons more room space and dining options, or monorail access, consider one of those like the Poly or CR.

I think you will LOVE staying on site no matter where you go-being part of the Disney magic is GREAT!

pop is awesome! and imo a perfect choice! it's small (imo) and well laid out, and would allow the boys the ability (and safety) to walk to the food court or arcade w/out you... it's got great bus service... the rooms are comfy for three... it's got a bigger tv than the other values/mods (apparently this matters to some people, it doesn't to me! LOL!)... the pools are fun and they are likely to find "friends" to play with (there were lots of footballs being tossed around when we were there and even some beachball pool volleyball)... it's a very nice, fun, clean, comfortable, relaxing resort which should suit your needs and then some :)
