To send an apology or not?

I'm such an idiot. I was just applying for a job and it provided an email address to send applications to.

I was reading the company director's information on the webpage just before I sent off my application and then sent my application off....

I've just realised I put the company directors email address into the 'send' box, instead of the graduate recruitment address! What an idiot!

I'm not desparate for this particular job thankfully.

But I don't know whether to email the company director to apologise for my mistake and to explain, or to just leave it and forget about it....

What would you do? :listen:

I would let it go, and in the future I would be more careful about who I'm sending job applications to. ;)

Tell me about it! I'm so annoying!

Like the CEO? If it's a big company, his secretary or somebody else probably goes through the email.

I personally would not send an apology email, but would then resend the application to the proper email address.

ITA ::yes::

It will most likely either get forwarded to the right address or get deleted. I'd probably resend it to the right place just to make sure they get a copy - no big deal.

BTW I though you already had a job you were doing that would pay you $100,000. Will this job pay more?

Actually I heard back from them today to say they would definitely be able to accomodate me when I graduate...which is great news.

HOWEVER

I am still considering the graduate job route because it has better and faster prospects of job development and probably job satisfaction too.

At this stage I'm keeping all my options open. I can decide about the secretarial role in June when I actually graduate so meanwhile I'm seeing what other options I have.
