DH will be so happy to hear it! I'm not the biggest fan, because I did not grow up on a lake, so I stink at water sports! Plus there's just a Walmart in town; I can't even go shopping!

I just wanted to say that it will get better! I know it must be really hard hearing no after round two, it was hard enough for me after just round one! Your posts sound exactly like I did! I am sure being pregnant didn't help the emotions, but it was a rough few weeks. Once everyone started putting their essay answer on, I really got angry again thinking, mine was just as good as that! It does get better and I realized it just wasn't my time to make it! My next planned trip isn't until 2014, so I don't know if I will make next years. Don't be discouraged! Just know they weren't looking for your stand out qualities this time around! Everyone on here drips with Disney passion in very different ways! Good luck to those moving on! Off to plan a January trip for the princess Marathon. Sadly not for me!

I spent a lot.of summers there, but not sure if I could have lived there! It does lack some shopping and recreation other than the lake of course! We had a houseboat at Wahweap so I didn't make it into town all that often. Can't wait to get back! We were trying to fly down last weekend actually but the tickets were crazy!

Hi everyone! I've been lurking on the Moms Panel threads since submitting my application. I was fortunate to make it to Round 2 this year, hoping that I would be the first Aussie to make it onto the Moms Panel. I feel like I've planted a seed which didn't bloom in 2012 and I'm now looking at 2013 as a new season.

The number 1 thing I have learned through this process, is that when you can't sleep at 3am in the morning because you're thinking about your answers and video, it's probably NOT the best time to record your video and hit submit! When showing DH my video, his response was "Noooooooooooo! You've got crazy eyes and you look like you're on drugs!" Needless to say, I've been looking for the "Unsubmit" button ever since.

Whilst I haven't posted until now, I've been moved by the graciousness, respect and camaraderie by this special group of DISer's and feel honoured to have shared, albeit on the sidelines, this process with you.

Special thanks to DisneyLifeMel for starting the Round 1 & 2 threads and for being the unofficial keeper of the 2012 Disney Moms Panel list.

Amy18 thanks for setting up the round 3 threads. You've certainly entertained me (and I'm sure others) with your wit and life commentary.

Thank you. I'm okay. Family is okay. It's hard to get too upset over this, when I'm surrounded by friends and neighbors without power, or with damage to their homes, and many people I don't know personally from my town whose lives will never be the same because they've lost almost everything.

Between DIS, FB, and Twitter I counted 23 for round 3. I am guessing they are not taking as many on the MP this year. I saw one RunDisney and a couple DL on Twitter.

From what I understand it is a reward trip given to each panelist that they earn after answering a minimum number of questions per week. I believe the minimum required is 25 but I could be wrong about that number. It really isn't a free trip - it's their "compensation" sort of for doing what they agree to do. Although not Disney employees, they are considered "outside contractors" or "freelance contractors" on paper and the reward trip is their compensation. I would imagine if you don't fill your end of the bargain - you don't get the rewards.

I haven't been able to post on the DIS the past several days.

I'm in Northcentral NJ without any power since Monday and nary any cell phone coverage - it has been very spotty at best. I'm taking advantage of a 4G reception window to check in with you all on the DIS.

I cannot PM since I have less than 10 posts. Wanted to get back to DisneyLifeMel and everyone here to let you know that I made it to Round 3. I received an email message from Disney's PR dept yesterday requesting contact info to set up the phone interview next week. I just hope my cell coverage doesn't fail me!!!

Best of luck to the other DISers who made it to R3. And I'm sorry for the many other extremely qualified folks (IMHO) who did not make it past R1 or R2. It really is a mystery what the MP Search Team is looking for specifically. We all have an enormous amount of passion and enthusiasm for Disney. I have to think that demographics must be a big factor.

To my fellow New Jerseyans and everyone affected by Sandy, please stay safe and I hope power is restored soon.

Ladies and gents.....what makes you qualified to be part of the MP?

I chose to do DCL because I felt there would be less applicants and I spend all my free time on the disbpards there. However I have been to WDW no less than 50 times in the last 2 years alone with stays and dining at most the resorts. I know I "know" my WDW stuff and maybe I would have gone to round 3??

So why you next year?? Tell away!!

I was checking my email as we were walking into meet Mickey at the MK. Kind of ironic to get my no email five seconds before I was hugging the mouse!

Our trip was great and we had a blast. Fort Wilderness for Halloween is so much fun! The golf cart parade and decorations are insane!

We came home this afternoon to see our house was still standing, in good condition but 1/2 of it was without power! Our fridge and freezer was full of food that spoiled. Probably $400 worth of stuff. So that stunk (no pun intended!) but we are fine, and we had a awesome trip so I can't complain!

Wow, Glad you had a nice trip, I bet it was hard worrying about your home. Thank goodness it's still standing. I hope your electricity is working in the whole house soon, also buy a great mask & girl--clean out that fridge soon!
