To ride or not to ride (Expedition Everest), that is the question.

I`m a major coaster chicken.

Every once in a while I decide that it`s time to suck it up and I will ride something that I was too scared to ride before. Last year it was EE.....I absolutely loved it. We ended up riding 5 times. My DD who was also very nervous to ride also loved it...previously her top ride was BTMRR. After riding EE she now thinks BTMRR is really lame.

Sit in the middle of the train, it is least intense there, either end gets flipped around a little more.

All the way up, behind me, I heard my friends DD saying "I hate you, I hate you" because her mom had told her it would not be that bad (heat of the moment, she did not mean it). I looked out (don't look down) and enjoyed the view. It is a little intense going backwards, and you are going through the dark which makes it seem faster. There is only one BIG drop, and that is the one that you see on the outside, but it is quick and you are moving with the coaster, it is not that bad. EE is now her DD's favorite coaster, she wanted to ride again the minute we got off!

It is smooth, and not as herky-jerky as BTMRR (which is my favorite). It was the first real roller coaster my DS and her DD ever rode.

Go before you eat, to set your mind at ease, and then you can decide. WDW roller coasters are very mild compared to most amusement parks.

I would say to try Big Thunder first and if that seems intense not to do EE. I've done EE a couple of times with no ill effects but my BIL (self-admitted major ride chicken) went on it after being pushed/shamed onto it by his wife and kids and after it was over had to go back to the hotel to lie down.

I think of EE as being just a bigger BTMRR. Except for the backward in the dark part (which is just a couple of seconds), the rest of the motion feels very similar. The first hill up is psychologically scary, but it doesn't really do anything at the top. This is a fun one and not too intense.
