We are waiting for a resale contract to come thru, assuming that happens we will have OKW as our home resort.

We plan to go to WDW Sept 2007. I haven't figured out how many days yet. Minimum 7 days.

Our party will consist of- Me (32) DH (35) DD (17months) My Mother (63)

Im not sure how our trip will go, I plan to have a park plan for each day that we can deviate from if we want to (for example if Grammie and DD stay at resort for 1/2 day).
On our past trips DH and I have always started by going to Epcot to ride Mission Space and have dinner in England, so I was thinking it might be fun if at the 7 month window we look for a room at BWV or BCV for 2 nights. I haven't decided what room size to request if I were to do this, since it costs more points to stay here, I would probably try to do a Sun-Thur since its significantly less points then weekend.

I plan to get an OKW 2 bedroom. My DD will sleep in pack n play.
We have 232 pts from '06 to use, and bank the rest and 232 for 2007.

Is there a big difference in walking distance to Epcot between BWV and BCV? According to WDW map it looks like BWV are further away then BWI.

Is one more "toddler friendly" then the other?

Is it a bad idea to park hop with toddler? We have always done split stays- but as 2 adults with no children.

Depending on where you stay at BCV, it is a little closer than BWV.. (Again.. Depending on where you stay at BWV..) IMO, the difference is negligable and I wouldn't base my choice of where to stay by using that as a weighing factor. You can also catch boats from either resort to either Epcot or MGM.

Is one more child friendly than the other??? Depending on what you are looking for... For us.. Our kids love BWV.. The carnival atmosphere of the pool area and the bright colors kept them engaged.. BCV is a little more low key and soothing.. Also, BWV has a Community Hall with activities and crafts... If you DD was a bit older, I would suggest BCV because of SB, but with the little ones, you may want to try BWV..

We've resort hopped quite a few times with both kids in tow... It usually isn't too bad if you plan it right...

Is BC the perferred resort, is that why it costs more points?

Man, the last thing I'd want to do is move hotels during my vacation. We get all unpacked, spread out, things where we want them and there is NO WAY we want to waste any of our valuable vacation time repacking and then unpacking again, not to mention checking in again, etc. Just my opinion.

Remember you probably will not have access to a room from check out at 11:00 AM until after 4:00 PM. Will your toddler nap in a stroller?

I have never split a stay because we like to unpack at arrival and really settle in. The thought of moving with all of our stuff, including refrigerated items doesn't sound like fun to me.

Where you are planning in advance, I would also vote for one resort for a one week stay. I have changed resorts (when nothing is available otherwise) and it does cut down on park time, relaxing, and requires packing up, etc.

the points are the same.

the standard view points are only available at BWV and NEVER plan your vacation on those points. they are extremely hard to get. You need to own at BWV to get the standard view points.

BCV is closer to Epcot - but much further away from Studios. It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to Epcot, BWV is around 12 minutes - if your villa is close to the boat launch, if not it could easily be 18 to 25 minutes.

BCV is the most popular DVC resort - but that is more because SALB - the mini-water park between BC & YC - than being that close to Epcot.

I'd also stay at one resort if you are only planning a week stay. If you were staying longer I'd say go for it, but having BTDT with a 24 month old at the time, I wouldn't recommend it. It's a lot of unpacking, packing, unpacking, and packing up again (and that's alot when you have a toddler). You also more than likely might not get into your new room until 4pm. It feels like you never got settled. Longer stays you don't notice the moving so much.

I have switched resorts midstay on a 14 day stay with teens/tweens and though it isn't the biggest obstacle in the world, even we don't really like the homeless for a minimum of 5 hours thing. I would never do this if my kids were younger, That "homeless" time is critical sleep time for a toddler. Stay at one and enjoy it fully then just book your next trip for a different DVC location so you can try them all out more slowly. My kids beg me to book for the duration in one place now, they like to settle in and enjoy.
